It occurs to me two possible situations:

A group of close girl friends, girl pulls boy, girl and boy keen to go home together. 9/10 The other girls in the group if they get a say in it will suggest it's a bad idea, best to wait, 'he only wants one thing', and generally girlfriends try to stop each other having sex.

If I'm out with the lads and one of my chaps picks some utter rotter I don't give a damn, I'll let him do what he likes with her. I might tease him the next day that the only attraction to her was that generated by her gravitational pull but still, I'd never ****-block a mate and any guys that do I despise.

Your bang on the money there! (well almost i mean theres the occasional situation where a bit of **** blocking is necessary to save someone from a real mistake).

It all gets a lot more complex when some of your best friends are female, iv been given really odd looks and shunned a bit for going after some girls ina guyish way

Have you just heard that saying & have been thinking of a way to implement it in a post ?
If so try again as the misuse of the term spoils it.

As for the women,
Try a lower grade Doris & her friends will not only encourage her but they will join in.

Edit.
Blimey I apologise I am apparently wrong
Just Googled it & I have to say that is Not what I think a **** block is.

You're focusing on the one girl too much. Win over her friends and they'll have no problem with you taking her home.

You might be right.

I've just been thinking about because the majority of the one night stands I have had have been where the girl has been a friend of a girl who I have known and therefore the group-girl defences haven't applied, in fact I've pretty much been set up!

It's just I'm going to the states alone in a couple of weeks on a road trip and while I'll spend most of the time with friends, there will be a few nights when I'm between cities where I'm going to have to 'fly-solo', because I want to learn if I'm blunt!
