OK. I pay for Live. It's great. However because I pay for it I expect decent quality control and to be able to PLAY ONLINE.

With L4D this does not happen. Let me explain why.

No mic, you will get kicked. OK now I know it's a team game. But when it's 1am and my parents are asleep I use my headphones and play a game. I can't chat. Where is the option for mic only games for those that insist on players having a mic?

So should I actually get in a game where I'm not kicked... this happens...

Glitches Glitches Glitches. Apparently when playing Versus mode, it's funny to block the levels with "heavy" objects which the survivors can't move. This doesn't help them in anyway. It just stops the game from moving forwards.

The surviving team thinks it will be fun to camp in the safe zone. Again... game is not going anywhere.

While these are only 3 problems. It happens all to often. I'm so glad there isn't stats in this game because then I might really care. It's just I pay for Live and I paid for the game and when someone has to spoil it by glitching I would like a instant ban, as in my opinion they should not play online.

Anyone else have any problems (gaming related) they wish to share? lol

Objects that can block the way disappear after a while.

Hook your mic up and say you have a mic but don't use it for the rest of the game.

Everyone camps in the safe zone to talk out a plan. The door opens after a few minutes by itself anyway.

Well, in No Mercy.. for me, people on Versus get a tank and bash a bin in the manhole above the sewers.. that doesn't ever move.. completely destroys the gameplay.. it's not a glitch as such, just a physics flaw.

this is an issue with the players rather than live :o or maybe valve if its genuine game breaking bugs but it is still mainly down the the players that do it.

Also, if you play this on the pc, you can still communicate by typing. If I was hosting a L4D game on the 360, I'd kick those that didn't have a mic too.

True but it's not hard to solve them.

Option for mic only games
Take out the kick system
Set the values right for heavy objects
If people are in a certain area for so long, send a horde after them lol

I think you should e-mail Valve. They me be able to incorporate your suggestion(s) into the next title update for 360.

Those are terrible ideas.

1.Why? So the 3 people that don't have a mic can play together? L4D is a game which requires a mic or some sort of communication(keyboard).

2.If there was no kick system, how our we going to kick those that go afk?

3.Only the tanks can smash objects around. Throwing stuff around as a tank is an ability.

4.They already do this.

No it doesn't

Xbox 360. People do not go AFK. It has not once happened while I have been playing.

Errr no. Get your facts straight and stop thinking the 360 version is the same as the pc version.

No, that is not a horde. It is the odd group of zombies.

Have to agree with others on this. For a game focusing on a great amount of team work, a mic really is required. Sounds harsh, but if me and some friends were trying to compete on Expert and you joined without a mic, I'd kick you.

People go AFK in any game. More to the point, if you end up with someone incompetent, or that just wants to muck about, they need kicking taking away the ability to kick is fine if the game lasts 5 minutes. If you spend an hour getting halfway through a campaign and someone decides they don't want to play ball. Without an option to kick, the only option is for everyone else to leave.

The 360 version is the same as the PC version. The only difference is that the Xbox difficulty is actually one level lower than the PC. (Advanced on Xbox is the same as Normal on PC etc).

Tell them to hurry up and progress with the level then? Oh wait.. no mic.. :o

This game defianately needs a patch for sure as well as the moveable objects being annoying there are also a fair few gitches/bugs to be addressed i.e. Infinite pipe bombs, dead air finale glitch etc... A huge must is also a region filter(as seen in COD5) as the game seems to have a habit of matching you with people who live the furthest laggiest away.

Get some decent people with good teamwork and connections and it's a great game.

L4D Must be played with friends, It really is as simple as that.
Get the PC version & join the OcUK group & you will have the online gaming experience of your life playing this game.
Half price at the mo an all so your lucks in.

Technically people don't go AFK on the 360. Away From Keyboard :p No keyboard to go away from. But really I play Halo 3 constantly and I have only seen a idle player a few times. The thing is there are gameplay mechanics to remove a user kick ability. Halo 3 does not have the option to kick someone until they team kill 3 times. Just thinking a little, in L4D there could be:

Idle timeout. But then there is a Take a break option or something in the menus I think. I assume that switches to AI for some time?
Safehouse timer. Once the door is shut the players still outside have so long to get in. If this is not a good idea then you could set it so when the door is open the timer stops and resets.
Friendly fire kick. After so many warnings they get kicked.

Well it can't be because people have just agreed that objects do not vanish on the 360 version... so again, they are obviously not the same  I was never the one that said the 360 version was terrible. I was just pointing out that you cant own the pc version and say the 360 version and assume it's the same.

I have a mic. I use my mic in the day. But to be honest this is how a conversation goes on L4D

"Tobes got a mic?"
Me: "Yeah"
"Cool"

10 minutes in...

"OK I'm about to alert the horde. Everyone get here"
Me: "OK"

"Everyone get in"

Wow. Holy crap we just completed a level and look at all the communication. JUST LOOK AT IT ALL!!1!1!!
I would expect way more communication on the pc. But there is a difference in the players and player skill. You are going to find better players, better team players and more dedicated players. On console most of the players just go on for a quick (though there is no such thing in L4D) game and the age group is going to start younger.

Weebull, oh we do. Takes way way to long though because they stand back and shoot at the door. I joined a game on the surviving team to already been dead as the team had killed off Zoe and then decided to camp. I didn't have anything better to do so watched. Then when they were finally dead and we became the horde I watched as they ran half the level to go and block off paths.

Malc30. Yeah I saw that deal. Though being jobless means buying L4D on the 360 has set me back a while lol. I chose to buy it for 360 because I only have a X800 in my pc. Plus I don't actually have a mic for my pc :D
