Things to do Bath & Somerset

well tbh, not many tourists would go to the gorge but not the hole as well. thats a given surely?

bradford-on-avon is nice - very picturesque. There's a great pub by the canal called the Lock Inn - not particularly upmarket but good food, great atmosphere, and the menu is hilarious :D Family pub. There's several other good places to eat in B-o-A as well - The Dandelion is one off the top of my head.

There's a nice pub in Monkton Farleigh - the Kings Head i think it is, and beautiful walks in the woods right outside - views to die for at Brown's Folly. Monkton Farleigh is kind of on the way to b-o-a - google them, both not far at all from Bath unlike Stonehenge etc! :p

I second this! great place - if you get on a bike, you can cycle from the city centre to here (bit of a way) but you can have a drink :D

It's north rather than south but

Michenhampton way, great places for walks, some great pubs. Or drop down to the canal again great walks and great pubs.

Also round there somewhere, you drop down into a town and there's this simply stunning delicatessens if your into cooking or just picking up some anti pasta stuff for a snack. Think it's nailsworth which also has http://www.egyptmill.com/ which is an amazing restaurant.

The quantocks have some of the best views around this area http://www.quantockonline.co.uk theres one great place where you can see all the way down to hinkley point power station... front row seats if it goes boom :D not sure if you can still visit it - but it was open to the public awhile back and there was also some great walks around the site, they've got some nature reserve or something.

Also the west somerset railway is a great day out http://www.wsr.org.uk theres some good places to eat along the way including minehead and some great walks from there... aslong as you stay FAR away from butlins :D
