what do you think is the best 125cc bike (not scooter) that can be ridden after a cbt ,havnt had a bike since 1980 ish but my works moving to Halifax (about 12 miles away) and i want to free up the car for my other half.
was looking at the new Honda cbf 135mpg ? and would like something very cheap to run or maybe second hand

I cant think of anything better than the new CBF 125, or a CG 125.

I had a Varadero 125, and it was a fantastic bike. Really easy to learn on, and easy to run.

No point spending any real money on a 125, I'd just get a 2nd hand CG. Cheap, simple, no frills, will run forever and be equally horrible to ride than any other 125.

cheers for the replies , seems the cgs keep their value quite well(just had a look at autotrader.co.uk) thats why the new cbf model sounded quite good at <£1800 but maybe a £500 ish runabout would be ok not sure how much insurance is im thinking not much over £100 ?

I've been using a CG125 to learn on. It's great for learning on but not very exciting.

I wouldnt bother with any race rep style 125's, especially a 4 stroke one, they are simply a waste of time and only there to fleece spotty oiks out of their cash because they want to look "cool".

Get an old DT125R, or an old CG.
