Lol typo! I will change that ;)

Sure, I have said it before, I won't be driving it before my birthday. My dad will be driving it up to the bodyshop and I will bring him back in the Golf, it's already been discussed!

really nice motor, do you have any other JWT mods to go on this?

from the popcharger video to me it looked like there is far too much movement in the engine bay when the throttle is gunned. are you considering tougher motormounts?

edit, new Nismo wheels look really well, much better than the GT3 specials...

But didn't you say you took it round the block? My point was distance doesn't matter, not driving it means not driving at all.

I noticed this too and I think it's normal, but I haven't really looked into any components for the engine bay. When I track it next year or something I will look at brakes and handling etc.

So far just the JWT popcharger and Nismo styling. Anything else I purchase would just be a waste of money till I learn to drive it properly.

I need to read up on what's best as I have a limited knowledge of what's best for a track setup.
:)

but havn't you posted about being driving in the snow already?

Hope you decided against using tcut :P The nismo wheels are much better, I personally think even Rays look better than the GT4 ones.

The jealousy in this thread is amazing

I don't think any of it is jealousy. More dispair at his stupidity really.

If he genuinelly was storing it and waiting for his insurance then it'd be tucked away on the drive disabled, or parked in the garage. But no - he's paid for an insurance policy on it for his Dad (At what cost? Surely the cost of insuring your dad on it must make up for at least some of the difference in insuring it yourself) so he can use his 'DOC' to drive it even though its invalid.

'I just got back' etc etc on other forums, its blatantly obvious and makes it even more daft when he tries to say OMG but it was my dad. Yea, whatever.

Buying a car you can't insure is the most daft idea ever. The car will depreciate in 6 months by more than the difference in insurance.

Yea exactly, just insure it for God sake and get out there and drive it. Can you not just cancel the policy and sort another one out at 21 if it is worth it?

Surely if this was your "dream" car you had waited so long for that you would just stump up the insurance already...

It really does seem weird.

Why everytime somebody purchases a car and posts it on this forum they get a lesson in finances?

Not many people buy a car they 'can't drive' for 5 months due to not being able to insure it then talk about driving it on other forums. If you can't see why people might question what is going on here I'd be very surprised.

If you read back a few pages he explains what happened with regards to insurance and driving it. Also from what I can read he has said his dad purchased the car so I assume his dads name is on the v5, meaning his DOC cover is valid?
