O2 Friends & Family discount, how to get it?

So what are the chances of me walking into an o2 store with a photocopy of my girlfriend's mother's payslip and opening an account with the discount? :)

heh worth a try, u may have too do a runner half way thru the transaction :)

Am pretty sure they will check your name/employee number from the wage slip too see its you thats taking it out.

Does seem a little silly I know would have perhaps been easier if one had a discount code and just walked in there and got the 30% straight away....

Otherwise I dont know anyway around it unless shes there like but id assume during the process u can give your direct debit card stands too reason cos I was offered upto 8 different o2 sims so why not really thats surely for friends/famiy..... its money too them at end of day.

Well i could go in with my girlfriend and she's obviously got the same last name :p

lol imagine if she was your mother in law, take her into o2 yearly for a 30% discounted contract :) Im sure you tried too ask her about the o2 offer but she might have just heard the word mobile and thats it, but its worth a try taking the girlfriend along she stands a better chance !

if everything goes belly up and they ask that question 'hangon' what she can then say is im doing it on behalf of my mother cos she doesnt understand all the tarifs and jargons......

Apparently network rail has this as well. but my manager knows nothing about it.

I assume I would lose my £100 yearly thing if I had to start a new contract. Suppose it depends if I would save over £100 with the discount or not..

if your contracts already with o2 it might be possible too simply update the records with your wage slip too apply the 30% discount on your tariff....

It sorta just depends if u get a good person or not on the other end, usualy staff accounts department can arrange this for u always worth a shot.

Otherwise u can always get a nice o2 simplicity chip or another contract for a friend/family maybe get a nice new phone free with it.... always ways too make some money or make things easier:)

Well I want to upgrade phone and add the unlimited web bolt on. So will have to give them a call and see what they say. is it best to goto a shop? or just phone up .

I'd personally get the upgrade first then chase the 30% off afterwards. I might be wrong, but they might be a bit less willing to offer more to someone that's asking for 30% off as well. Just a thought.

HighlandeR, where did you get that staff accounts number? I want to give it a call to get some advice how best to do this, but i'm always a bit wary of calling random numbers :p

This is definately gonna be tough. I went into an o2 shop yesterday and the guy just said if she cant get the code, i cant get the discount. Hmn..

Hi guys, first time ive ever posted but would really appreciate some help lol
so my uncle works for bbc and told me i could recieve 30% discount off an iphone, so within minutes i had recieved a text from o2 with my 'o2 open code' telling me to take this code and proof of employment to any o2 store to enjoy a great deal....the proof of employment in question being a valid bbc staff number..
for starters the o2 store i visted had no idea what i was talking about however eventually decided they could do it once i had the o2 account number...which no one knows how to get a hold off, even my uncle.
i was simply wondering since the text from o2 said to simply bring THE CODE AND PROOF OF EMPLOYMENT to the store...would they actually need the account number? i recently found out this is a newly opend franchise branch of o2 and wonder are they simply being awkard about this as they wont be recieving as much money from me?
any help would be greatly appreciated :) thanks
