Any word of when patch 1.04 will be out?
I got bored at the weekend and decided to patch AoC and re-sub.
So far I gotta say the game runs really well and they do appear to have resolved the memory leak.
The game looks great and combat still has that gritty feel to it.
The ganking on fury is crazy (not complaining though). I've been playing my demo which is lvl46 and I haven't left Field of the Dead since I re-subbed. There has just been pvp everywhere in that area and it usually doesn't take long before someone gives you an invite and some group pvp happens.
I do think the game has some way to go yet mainly balance and making items a bit more important but hopefully patch 1.05 will sort that.

Well Crysis was more of a technical demo IMHO. It's very scalable and the better hardware you put in it the more and more features you can turn on.
Agreed the game was very average. It was okay but certainly not the best game ever. If you've noticed in the best games ever table Half Life 1 wins it a lot of times as does Mario, Elite, Dungeon Master, Sonic, etc. all being up there - obviously gameplay does come into it eventually.. it's not based on graphics all the time.

This will probably cop me some flak, but re: AoC DX10: a t*rd with a bow on it is still a t*rd.
The game actually plays really well these days beleive it or not.
And if you like gritty ffa pvp then its hard to find anything comparable to it at the moment.
Its by no means flawless but it is improving, so I think it will continue to be on my watch list.
