Man arrested and held without charge for taking a photo of a police officer

I was at a not-very-legal rave on Saturday. As we were being turfed out at 5am, we there were a number of people being physically abused by the police.
Some people were recording this on their mobiles and wanted to take pictures of their numbers too. They were told if they did this, they would be arrested as potential terrorists.
I had no idea about this and looked it up when I got home.
It is absolutely insane.

How many languages can you speak?

Three, but I cannot fathom as to why that is relevant and what bearing that holds on his ability to make sense, but thank you for your curiosity. For reference, my mother tongue is Serbian.

Anyway, back OT.

bbc picked it up as well

The chap was caught taking pictures of ships and was 'asked if he had any connection with terrorism'. What a stupid question. Cause terrorists are easily flustered by direct questioning. I think it is an absolute bloody disgrace and yet another infringement of our rights that have been slowly eroded in the name of 'Terrorism Prevention'

Fair enough.

He speaks English as a second language as I'm sure you're aware. Beats what I can do.

It was the first post of his I had come across, so thought he was just like a number of other posters on here who were just too lazy to check their posts before submitting them. Alas, that is not the case, so thanks for bringing that to my attention! :) I'll be less critical ;)
