Hi all,

I'm building my system this Friday and I want to get an idea on what sort of fans I need to buy. I'll be water cooling my pc next month so I'll have it running on air till then. I'll need 2 92mm fans for the rear which I'll use as intake fans and 2 120mm fans at the top of the case which I'll use for outtake fans.

I want them to be as silent as possible. I'll also be getting a few fan controllers next month when I start buying water cooling parts. I'm not bothered about colour fans as I'll have UV lighting for the tubing which will give me enough colour.

I don't really want to spend no more than £12 a fan. I want to attach the rear fans with rubber fan pins too to reduce the vibration. I don't think I'll be able to do this with the top ones in the mesh though.

Hope someone can give me some help.

Cheers,

RoEy

I've got a pair of Noctua NF-P12's at the top of mine, with the blue power adaptor. Seem to do a good job at both quite and heat extraction

.i was thinking of getting a fan mount to fit in the front for a fast intake with the 2 top two as slower intakes aswell, with the 2 x92mm as exhaust. would this be possible, im still planning my build (waiting for permission) to get the case so i haven't seen one in the flesh yet.

ah have just noticed this is going to be temporary until you go fully water, i was thinking of having the fans and water aswell.

Thanks for info. I like the quality of the Noctua's but personally think they look hideous and will not match my colour scheme. I want to carry on using the fans I buy now when I go with watercooling and then just buy more for the rad so I need to buy the right ones this time round.

Are these any good?

I'll be buying the Zalman ZM-MFC1 Plus Black Multi Fan Controller next month so any particular fans that work well with this fan controller? I'm looking for absolute silence, if it exists?

my two cents
i have noctua p12s for 120mm
and nexus 92mm real silents

any fan will make lots of noise (when considering a silent system) unless you're running it at near enough the level just before it stops spinning.
the dense mesh on tj07 especially makes silencing the 120mm fans and the rad fans a nightmare.

my fans, when running at the complete lowest rpm are silent enough that i cant hear them over the sound of the pump, hard drive or gfx hiss.
get any good quality quiet fans and run them on the fan controller, make sure you're fan controller is capable of running fans at low low voltages (sunbeam rheobus goes from 0v to 12v)
if you like white fan blades and black casing, the nexus real silent 92mms are very good, quieter than my noctua 120mms.
in a nutshell just go for the fans that suit you aesthetically, in my opinion all fans are loud unless you run them super super low voltage off a controller

I wouldn't personally go for the kaze jyu ones as it's going to be pushing against the restrictive mesh at the top or going on a radiator. I'd get Yate Loon 12cm fans (~£4 each) and maybe the 1500rpm Sharkoon Silent Eagle Golfballs for the 92mm (~£6 each?).

Edit: Also what MidnightLamp said. :)

i spent ages trying to find some nice 92mm fans for my loop rebuild - finally decided on Revoltec RL048 fans - should go nicely :)

The TJ07 comes with bundles of fans....

so if you're gonna watercool it later on then get some Xilence Red wing fans.

They move a lot of air thought your radiators and are quiet to boot.

Plus they look great (all black and red!)

I just came across Xigmatek XSF-F1251's. Apparently they push 72CFM and produce less than 24dBA (that stands better than Scythe S-Flex 1600RPMs.) Has anyone experienced these fans?
