Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Few people having problems with the TE sticks

"Well my TE stick just completely stopped working. The stick stopped registering but all the buttons still work. I tried to secure the connector on the stick but that did not help."

"Eight main buttons and start/select no longer working after one hour out of the box. Shipped to MadCatz for warranty repair."

"The downward motion on the joystick does not work"

"After an hour of play in the middle of an HDR match joystick function completely stopped operating instantly."

"my xbox button sticks when i press it causing the xbox menu to come in and out randomly"

"Nuts how hold the Main Cover where not clued good and fall into the stick after open it / Fixed with clue and hard work to insert them back"

"After about 2 hours of play, I noticed SRKs don't come out a majority of the time, same with low attack to fireballs (fbs don't come out). I've been playing with Sanwa sticks for 2 years and have never had this problem before."

These were taken from a thread on a forum RE condition that the TE stick came in. Around 50% reported scratches over various parts and those major complaints probably made up around 10%.

Just a heads up really...I'm still going to order one or though I may get a hori ex and mod it myself with sanwa buttons.

I would recommend that anyone buying a madcatz stick does not modify it for now (i.e. don't change buttons, sticks etc if you don't know how).

Madcatz have stated that any modifications of any sort = no warranty. On the Capcom forums one of their reps even challenged someone to send a modded one back for warranty and they claimed they would know and not honour the warranty. (Sounds like they will use any excuse not to fix it.

Technically this is normal, just seems a bit cheeky considering every video you see shows people opening the sticks up and boasting how modifiable they are.

Anyway, be warned.

Hori Fighting Stick 3. (Available for about £25-£45 quid if you can find it in stock).

Bear in mind the 360 ones are "better" if you require out of the box Windows (PC) support. (I am skeptical if any PS3 sticks work in windows). Madcatz say theirs do, I am unsure how unless they have their own drivers, or they emulate a 360 stick when connected to a PC?

Their is no way it is over £100 pound better than your one (I forget how much I sold it for). Ah well, at least over 1 year after I sold it, it is finally getting some use :p

Its had some use, i used it for VF5 and Soul Calibur.

what would you exactly would you do to mod your stick? i.e what would you add?

change the buttons, change the stick, change the stick top, change the gateway.

The hori ex has the exact same stick as the sf4 te stick but the button are hori. for very little you could swap them out for sanwa's which is very easy to do. changing other stuff is a little more tricky.

I have an EX2 aswell.

Ive seen the MOD threads on different boards and its VERY hard to do!

So are you saying just changing the buttons is a easy process?

just a simple swap and change? instead of buying a Solder and messing with all the parts in that way.

oops sorry, i was talking about the hori RAP ex.

Man.. all today and yesterday i've spent searching for the TE and also SE Mad Catz joysticks, controllers, the EX and i've had no luck what so ever. I've found the EX but it's £60 and i'm not 100% if it will do the job really. I'm not sure if £60 will be well spent either.

Are there still sites selling any of the above? or am i going to be forced to wait untill they release more? There's no point in getting the game untill i can play it properly!!!!

My Collectors Edition is on it's way via TNT courier, will be with me tomorrow! :D
Do you mean the game or the Tournament Edition FightStick?

I've had SMS confirmation that my TE is on its way, the CE game is still on "Processing". Kinda funny that the last place I pre-ordered from on the 12th of February was the one that came up with the goods.

Think I'm going to be brave and keep my order in for the SE fightstick. :o

If it doesn't dispatch by tomorrow morning from jersey however, it's getting cancelled.

Also - is anyone else surprised that they aren't doing midnight openings on the high street - surely this game has quite a hype surrounding it? ala GTA4 IV?

You cannot have looked hard enough there have been sticks and pads for sale at the full rrp up untill about 9:00am today, I ordered another TE stick last night from a place that definitely has stock as another order I have in place for a good price does not look like it will arrive for a while.

I don't think so. Only was place was recently (that I know of) but their pre-orders are all allocated now. You'll need to use an auction site or wait for the second batch now.

... is there a second batch? has there been any official update on this? I'm still under the impression that there's only 3000 been made.

Sorry.. edited.

Ok, is there anywhere that's selling them? or the SE versions.

There is still pads and sticks available for pre-order on one site but I have know idea if they will have the stock to back it up anytime soon.
