What book are you reading?

I'm currently reading The Imperial Stars book 1 by Jerry Pournell*, which is a collection of short stories basically around the theme of how 3 types of human governing groups interact (tribes, barbarians, civilisation), which is fairly good so far.

Before that it was The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain - since getting my Sony Ebook reader for Christmas I'm trying to mix up my normal reading materials (sci-fi/fantasy/horror) with classics etc.
I'm planning on trying some Jane Austin soon...:p

*I got a collection of 10 of his older books in ebook format from Baen for about $20 the other week, including Footfall and Lucifers' hammer.

Was given 'Twilight' for xmas and have yet to crack it open. It just looks so....meh

My 20 year old daughter bought this and loved it so much see bought the others and has read 3 of the books in the last week. They don't appeal to me at all, perhaps I'm to old!

I got Nation for christmas and still havnt sat down to read it yet :(

Currently im reading research methods in politics for my course..... (enthralling i know)

Currently rereading the malazan book of the fallen series by Steven Erikson, very enjoyable if you like your fantasy to be more in-depth.

Almost finishing 'Pandora's Star' by Peter F. Hamilton, its been a fantastic book hopefully the last 100 pages will be as good. i have the sequel sat on the shelf ready and waiting.

The last book I read was Trinities. That was months ago. :o

Nowadays, I find it hard to concentrate on reading. I find OcUK ( and the wider internet ) far more interesting. :p

It's a good book, it might be worth ordering Dreaming Void when you get started on Judas Unchained, as the Void series (third one out this year with luck!) follow on in the same universe/timeline after Judas Unchained.

Also, if you've not read it, the Nights Dawn Trilogy are also good.

I am about half way through A game of thrones, the first book in the song of ice and fire series by George R R Martin,

I am really enjoying it and I hope the other books in the series are to this standard

Currently reading 'An Unfinished Life' A Biography of JFK. Interesting stuff. Also reading Nemesis, which is about the last 18 months of the War in the Pacific.

Just finished 'World without end' which is the sequel to Pillars of the Earth, certainly enjoyable but not as good as Pillars.
