Hi Guys,

Sister recently changed her car, she had a Seat Ibiza 1.9 tdi sport thing which I'm convinced had been remapped because it went like stink.

Now she has a 07 plate Focus with a 1.8 Diseasel in Titanium trim...basically shes asked about the tuning possibilitys of it as she misses the speed and torque from her last car.

So...for those that know...please share! :)

Thanks,
Jake

TDCIforum was good I think for PSA Ford diesels, i think thats turned into tdocuk now though. Have a look there.

The 2.0TDCi is good for 180bhp through Code:Red, not sure about 1.8 though.

Based on my calculations, taking the TDCi 115PS to 145PS would change performance from 0-60 in 10.5s, top speed 118mph, to 0-60 in just under 9s, and a top speed of around 125mph.

Are you actually quite clever and worked that out or are they just random numbers? :p

Wouldn't be too sure as results are always varied, you'll notice more power but the 0-60 doesn't always improve especially 1.5 seconds!

They are saying +30hp for about £250 ish.

They have a place in Basildon, too, apparently :)

I wouldn't touch Angel Tuning and their generic maps with a bargepole. They put far too aggressive a map on one of my mates cars to the extent that it was severely smoking and overfuelling under hard acceleration (part throttle was less noticeable).

Nigel (one the directors and founder) is a real idiot IMO - fake friendliness and very aggressive when you suggest anything they do is less than perfect.

got a 57 plate FR with 130BHP, might have to change it soon as all the significant people in my life (long term girlfriend and parents) hate it as they say it feels like they're on a rollercoaster :D The torque makes it feel quicker than it is but i believe its definetly lower to 60 than Seat claims ;)

Hi,

Was going to recommend not using those two companies. Someone I knew had their Punto JTD remapped - they claimed it now being 130BHP (from 80BHP). The owner complained about it smoking a lot and after a dyno, it was running 95HP, with basically just a increased fuel map.

Did you have to deal with Nigel before, then? Any horror stories?
