You advertise a product as being half price for a set period on your forum and in your store news page, yet it is not so.

Why, because you randomnly decide to stop it for no reason (but sill coninue to advertise)

Yes, I know it is Valve's right to price as they wish, but the way the weekend deals are extended then stopped early in the extensions is incredibly annoying.

L4D was £13.50 a 1730 today but by 1930 it was back up again (even though the deal does not end until tomorrow)

That says "ends on Feb 17th". And the deal did indeed end of Feb 17th...

Also, I can't see a news item in the Steam store about it (just trying to find incriminating evidence about it all).

Indeed. That's where I'm looking and the only news item /re L4D is:

Weekend Deal: 50% off Left 4 Dead
February 13, 2009, 10:25 am - Alden Kroll
This Friday the 13th brings us a little closer to the zombie apocalypse. Whether or not you're superstitious, Left 4 Dead is 50% off this weekend only. So grab a shotgun and make a run for the next safe room.

It's the zombie apocalypse. Bring friends.

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious.

yah indeed and the forum post i liked up the top lists it as extended to 17th Jan

In my experience, if something is listed as finishing on a certain day, it ends at the end of the day, not some random hour in the middle of the day.

As I said, i was there during the afternoon and gone by the evening.

Ho hum, you win some you lose some.

Yeah, I'd expect it to last till the end of the day too - but it's an international store so you can't always expect it to work on GMT time.

Perhaps they just took the deal off first thing in the morning, US time.

I bought L4D a few weeks back just outside of a sale.. sent them an ticket and they couldnt do anything.. its well worth any value you put on it though now that the extra content is free.

yah its true, their policy is their own.

I have a sour taste in my mouth, I am sure others have had the same kind of experience. It just reflects really badly on valve as a company.

All they need to do is add a small list of running times and there is no confusion. Odd oversight.

Understandable.

Tbh, a countdown would be good - plus it'd probably encourage more people to purchase if they could see the timer ticking down.

Hey, they made the game half price! Why are you complaining? Some of us paid £33 for it only two months ago!

if you read the small print im sure there will be something about them being able to pull the promotion at any time without prior warning stop complaining and cough up the extra cash for arguably the best pc game of the year so far!
