Also isn't GTA4 one of the games that suffers from longer load times if you install it?
Perhaps, but it's worth it to cut down the jet engine noise!
Having just finished the main storyline in The Lost and Damned (65%, if anyone is wondering, having done nothing else except for one race), I thought I would give me two cents.
Firstly, according to the stats ingame it took me 6 hours 34 minutes to get to 65% and finish the storyline. Most of the missions I did first time, but there was one which I had to restart 7 times, and another I had to restart 4 times.
The story is awesome. I really clicked with the character of Johnny for some reason. I love the way the story fits with the main GTA IV storyline, with the missions with Niko, the missions referencing Niko, and additional missions which show what happens before and after some of Niko's missions.
Just driving around the city I really did get the sense that somewhere, somehow, Niko was robbing a bank, or stealing a car, or getting drunk with Roman and evading some cops. It all felt part of the same universe and timeline. And this was AWESOME.
I thought I would hate the music selection in this game as I'm not a fan of rock/heavy metal, but I ended up loving it, even more than the normal GTA IV music selection. There are some crackers in there.
After 65% I still have 11 races to do and who knows how many gang wars. I still have side missions for Congressman Stubbs and Angus, so I imagine I have at least another 4-5 hours gameplay left before I start having fun freeroaming, so I guess the reviews were about right with the 10 hour mark.
Oh, and I also have 4 out of the five achievements (Made sure to take backup on every possible mission!

). I haven't knocked 69 bikers off their bikes though, that'll come over time.
