Who said a new one would be better? They cocked up Source, probably will again. He should try the original, he wont go back.

TF2 and L4D use the source engine, so I wouldn't have thought you will have any problems.

Also, COD4 runs easily on most systems.
 
CoD4 and Bf2 are both good games, but they haven't got me off Css. I always go back to Css in the end, must be something about it lol...
 
^^same here, look around occasionally for something else but I can't find anything. Think if I swapped css for something else it would be a different sort of game altogether like Eve or Vanguard but atm you won't catch me paying monthly subscription fees.
 
just had my 1st session of CSS for about 1 year and my god it looks dated now! still decent enough game but my love for it has gone.

i also am sick of accusations of cheating and the funny thing is im admin on one of the spawnpoint servers and when im on even though they know i have admin they still accuse me.

I've found the only game that has ever pulled me away from css for a significant amount of time was guild wars, i need GW2 to come out so i can be re-pulled away
 
^^ The only game that managed to get me off css is L4D, though now it's hard to go back to it as it's so easy to die, then you have to wait a round to respawn. COD4 however is much easier to duck in and out of these days :)

Never said a new one would be better. Having said that, I've been playing since 1.5, and I don't agree with the whole 'omg source is for nubs, 1.6 is still the best game in the universe etc etc...'

HL3 i assume would bring along a new engine, and therefore a new incarnation of CS. Who wouldn't want a graphics upgrade so that it's on par with new releases, and a massive surge in people playing?

Yeah, the mechanics may change again, but it's a different game... anyone whose played cs before will undoubtedly pick it up a lot easier than all the new starters so I really don't see the problem.

Having said that, this post is futile, seeing as people with your attitude (i don't intend offence by that at all, i just mean the whole 1.6 > all camp) will still moan about recoil this and hitboxes that etc etc...

While your right to an extent, for public play or low level clan matches it is fine - Its just a different game with slightly different mechanics. The issue however is the hitboxes and other game breaking bugs that make it unplayable at a certain level, as it stops being skill and just pure luck.

Having said that though, I think they've sorted out a whole host of those issues by now.

Never wishing to discriminate against younger players but imho a majority of the time it is the very young players that should be tucked up in bed or doing their homework. :D

Maybe CS Promod when they pull their finger out and come out of beta. I've also heard about counter strike 2.
I stopped playing CSS last year, got backinto it this year and got into a clan. It's brought back the fun that I used to have when I played 1.6.
Does BF2 still have an active community? If so I wouldnt mind installing it again. I loved the days of using the Helicopters/jets with my mate in the gunner. XD.

I thought the Half-Life episodes where all parts of HL3?

Oh yea CSS, CS 1.6 are both good, I still play CnC Renegade, lol. =P
Then again, I like Tribes 2.

And yes left4dead is good, just bought it on the weekend for £13. =D
