The Unofficial Fallout 3 Thread

Went to the games version of the White House the other day.

Awesome. Trenches dug all the way up to it and it's protected by the Talon and infested with Super Mutants.

Any idea how to view time played on the PS3 version of this? Bit scary to find out, but would be amusing to know how many tens / hundreds of hours of my life have been wasted on this great title.

On the 360 version when you save your game it tells you there. I'd imagine its the same for PS3.

I can not believe I put off playing this for so long, had 3 mates constantly raving about it.

Think I am around level 9 now and the game is definitely getting way more fun. Couple of nights ago I tried walking to the arlington library from megaton but was to low a level. Was getting really fustrated that small group of raiders were over powering me.

Just fought a super mutant commander/captain guy in the hotel, my god was he a tough cookie

Just cleaned out Tenpenny Towers and took all the cash ££££ :D

I'm VERY EVIL :D

Had to stop doing main missions for now as I sense 'end-game', so switched to side-missions for a while.

is the further DLC available in march definately going to remove the level cap?

If so does anyone know if I'll suddenly jump a few levels (as I have been lv 20 for a while). If not then I might hold off playing anymore until march.

The third DLC will remove the forced ending (well allow you to continue playing afterwards) and increase the level cap to 30. Not sure if it'll be retroactive though, I presume so.

Just completed this and got most of the trophies :D Took about 70 hours total, loved every second. Never been this hooked to a console game before I don't think. Time for another play-through with neutral karma - will be hard to resist going very evil again =P

With the first batch of Fallout 3 downloadable content now just over a week old, it appears that its siblings won't be arriving as planned. Bethesda Softworks has confirmed to GameSpot that the next two Xbox 360 and Games for Windows-exclusive updates for the award-winning role-playing game have been delayed by about a month.

"The next DLC for Fallout 3, The Pitt, will be out in March," Bethesda vice president of marketing Pete Hines said. "Broken Steel will be out the following month, in April."

The Pitt takes place in the raider city that has sprung up from the ruins of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Players will be forced to side with a faction in an unnamed conflict plaguing the town, details about which were not released.

Bah! :(

Is it just me that is easily scared when playing this game? I mean, I went down into Anchorage War Memorial type warehouse and got scared by the sounds of those damn Mireljurks (not sure if thats the right spelling). I was playing on my own, had surround sound turned up and room completely blacked out. Am I alone is getting scared by this

It was mainly hearing them scurrying around the warehouse, me hearing them behind me, to the side, running round and then all of a sudden appearing!!

Hmm, just about understandable in the circumstances :p

Gotta fess up tho first time i went to the abandoned power plant i thought i had cleared the place out, walked out and was on my merry way. Heard something behind me and turned round to be greeted by a feral ghoul insisting on tearing my face off with his nashers. Made me jump that :o

Welcome to The Pitt.......

Bethesda formally welcomes you to post-apocalyptic Pittsburgh, PA, with three new screenshots from the upcoming Fallout 3 add-on The Pitt. Did somebody say auto-axe?

The Pitt content opens with the players responding to a desperate radio message. Someone in The Pitt has created a cure for mutations, and the player must travel there and retrieve it from the leader of the settlement at all costs. From there the choice on how to proceed is up to the you. Do you side with the slaves of The Pitt or their raider overlords? How about just going in with your rotary auto-axe blazing?

Another month to go though :(

I'm just about finished with the main game so will be looking at the DLC soon. Quick question about playing the DLC - do you carry over all your weapons/stash, or do you start over again with nothing?

Take a save before you do the final mission, which, trying here to be spoiler free, is given to once you have left Raven Rock and is called 'Take it Back!'.

The Operation Achorage DLC that has already come out must be done before you complete the game, but the Pitt apparently lets you go beyond the 'endgame'.

Ah right, thanks.

I've already completed the missions (just tidying up some 'achievements' - Behemoths etc)

Luckily I had a save game from a point just before the final whistle, which I'm now using for this 'tidying up'.
So I'll be ok for OA - will I take my weapons into OA then?
