Hello :)

Still learning all this new stuff so please bear with me ;)

If you have this MoBo, please tell me......

I have two SATA HD, and one SATA DVD Writer

On the MoBo there are 6 x red SATA, 1 x White and 1 x Orange SATA connections

I dont wish to use raid, so where do I plug the HDs into please as its a little confusing for us mere mortals :)

Chris

ohhhh nearly forgot, how many of you overclocking yours?

I have a Sapphire 4870 x2 GFX card and the Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) CPU

Im using Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x2GB) ram that comes with its own cooling unit, and im cooling the CPU using an Artic Cooler 7

I am as I said, new to this, I built PCs a few years back, but its all changed so much... NORTHBRIDGE Settings in the BIOS lol whatever next :D

Id just stick them all in the red connectors, it shouldnt matter tbh, whether you run them in RAID or as normal is in the BIOS, theres a setting near the start SATA setup/configuration so long as that says IDE and not RAID it wont run RAID
Re OC'ing it depends what sort of clock youre after, if yourre not clocking too much you can leave everything on auto, boards have got a lot better at handling things on auto, you should be able to get it to 3GHz no probs

As 95trifles says put them all in the red sata ports, the orange and white ports are the silicon image raid ports.

Thats what I was going to ask???

According to the manual it says only HD can be used, and no ATAPI support

I have I know an SATA DVD Drive but would that port support it?

Rifles, how have you got those Antec 1200 fans connected up in there?

I just got today the Enermax Revolution 1050W PUS and it looks the business, but the cables come off the Window side of the case, will make keeping it looking neat and tidy a problem!

Back to the MoBo do I need to remove that black plastic plug in the top of the board before I plug summit into it?

there are leads on the PSU I havent seen before lol I know its been a while but.......

Im starting to panic now

I don't think the orange/white ports support DVD-RW, I remember being disappointed when I got my P5Q Deluxe mobo.

As for the black plastic plug, are you talking about the plug that covers 4 of the 8 pin connector on the mobo? If so then yes you remove it and then plug the 8 pin connector from your PSU into it.

all my cables from PSU go straight out of the case via the bottom hole into the cable compartment, I then bring them back through where I need them, all the fan connections go into the cable compartment too, via their nearest window, so theyre actually connected in the cable compartment
