#1 works at asda with his mam and his bro
#2 got his first job with his bro in a bar then factory with his dad
#3 bowling alley with his mam
#4 pub with his mam
 
Head of Information Systems, or an IS manager at a enterprise level company would not (in most circumstances) do any hands on technical work.
 
I can't understand the people saying the detectives are sad, surely the OP is the real loser for fabricating such a ridiculous story, for what? To impress the people of OcUK? :/

Doesn't matter why he lied tbh (if he feels the need to impress people he doesn't know on an internet forum that's up to him), all that cross site research is just plain sad.

secondly, congratulations to 'the OcUK' detectives, you people sure do a good job! ever thought of combining and creating some kind of intelligence agency? you'd go pretty far I'm sure!
 
Perhaps dad pulled some strings, but I respect his eagerness and excitement for starting a job at 18. I am personally pleased for you, its not everyday that I hear someone this age be excited about starting a job. Surely we should all encourage that?

Besides, have we all not exaggerated about jobs to friends when we were young?

Give the guy a break, he is just 'really happy'.

With OCUK being a hardware and computer geek site with many people working in the industry you have to be totally stupid to try and lie about starting such a high profile job at 18.

No doubt the OP is pleased with his helpdesk / teaboy job but why lie in the first place thats the whole point of the ocuk internet detectives.

Well done on starting in IT i hope you tell less fibs in work otherwise it won't be the OCUK detectives after you.

Dont really post here, but i lurk and read and have to say this thread is a winner just had to post.

The reality of the OP post is that if you try pulling a boasting lie like that when there is people who are studying for years (myself included) to get into that sector of work your asking for trouble.

Nice one for getting new job, work hard and you'll climb your way up, just be more honest next time :)
