Hi all,

Just had a moment of stupidity and injured my mondeo for the first time since I got my her!! :(

Just had to drop the kids off somewhere which means having to reverse off the drive. Well on the driver's side there is a fence adjoining neighbour's drive and ours.

Well my step daughter had got in the car, I had assumed she closed the door but she hadn't so I reversed and the door got stuck in the fence and now the door has two crease marks and a crease line going down it.

It could have been a lot lot worse, but it also could have been avoided. It's been a long day :(

How much would this cost to get fixed, would the door have to be replaced or is it called 'panel beating which can be used to iron out creases etc.?'

Really disappointed, I've only had her since May last year and looked after her lovingly and cared for her no end, then this happens... really can take the shine off a good day out :(

So it hit the handle end of the door and creased it at the hinge end? Just trying to get my head around the damage ie. is that crease where it hit or as a result of the whole door bending?

yeah the handle end got caught and it bent the door resulting in that crease, the rest of the door is fine.

New doorskin, fitting, paint - not cheap. If it's older just get a second hand door the same colour. The latter will be the cheapest option by far if you can find one the right colour.

I was just wondering if the insurance would cover such things? If not, how much would I be looking at for your first suggestion?
