Electronic Arts announced today the development of a new downloadable game mode called FIFA 09 Ultimate Team for EA Sports FIFA 09. This new mode challenges gamers to collect 30 different types of bronze, silver and gold virtual cards, including Player, Staff, Contract, Formations, and Tactics, to create their most talented football players in the world, develop them into a dream team and then compete online against a legion of challengers to be crowned the ultimate team. Below is the press release with the announcement along with the first screenshots of the FIFA 09 Ultimate Team mode.

Haven't seen it mentioned on here yet, looks very interesting and out in March.

What Bugs? i havent had any and ive been playing it since it was released i find it very polished to be honest, Regarding the topic i will buy the expansion as soon as its avalible think it looks good and is something different

Only two bugs i can think of really is sometimes the ball goes out for a goal kick when it is quite clearly a corner and also i've had scored a few dubious goals against my mates where the ball clearly didn't go over the line but still counted! :eek: <--- Their face when they realise i've just mugged them :D

Excriment! :) Don't understand why trophies weren't there in the first place, i guess only trophy-hoes like me would really moan tho.
 
Nothing is ever free when it comes to EA. As my most played 360 game however, even a small fee wont put me off.

Then you haven't played it enough.
 
Im not sure on the cost, havent seen it mentioned. The problem with releasing it as a paid add on is that it is nearing the end of the season, and football games are the most seasonal of all games. Im thinking 800 points and I might go for it, any more and I think Ill give it a miss.
 
Whilst we're on the topic of bugs, why is it that EAs idea to make the teams in the lower leagues worse is to make all their players slow :( Fair enough they cant pass as well etc, but all my players get out sprinted every time. I'm sorry but players in the lower leagues can actually run!
 
Yeah theres so any bugs in FIFA 09 its scary - on top of whats been mentioned theyve got to sort out the GK AI - its truly terrible at times (i.e. watches ball cross 6yard box to let the other attacker tap it in and then attempts to dive).

At this rate I just dont think I can justify buying FIFA 10 or this DLC add-on...
