Operation Flash point 2 Realistic Tactical Shooter

Please, Please, PLEASE don't get rid of the realism!

Agreed totally with that. I was hoping Socom would give me a nice realistic FPS seeing as i heard so much about the first one on PS2. Reading about it though sounds like it ended up being Socom: Frustration instsead ( :p)

Well we have and arma 2 coming to the 360 so hopefully one of them will provide the real deal.

Personally OFP2 is looking just the right side of sim without being to "clunky"

anyway another update tomorrow!!! will keep this thread updated.

Demo just confirmed

"Hi everyone,

Got some good news for you all.

Just wanted to confirm that as is the case with almost all of our major releases, OFP: DR is planned to have a demo released prior to launch for all platforms.

I don't have any further details at the moment regarding dates and content, but I will keep on updating this thread as and when new info becomes available."

Just how realistic and tactical can a game be on a joypad ?. Hmmm i somehow doubt this will be anything worth getting. I'll happily stand corrected when i see the demo.

Arma2 will be WAY better

OFP2 looks far too console porty for my liking

They're different games. I'll get both if they are good. I liked of1 but arma wasn't that good. Until i play either its impossible to say which will be "WAY better" for me, I prefer the infantry focus of flash point more though at this stage.

I'd be more excited about arma 2 if there was anything close to a release date on 360 but that's a long way off by the sounds of it.

Slow paced FPS games actually suit a game pad more than quick quake style games which focus more on raw aim IMO.

Operation Flashpoint on the original xbox is fantastic and still played by a fair few people.

But of course the proof is in the pudding.

Just watched the video of it on pcgamer disc. Looks like a slightly enhanced BF2 graphics wise. Was obviously a console version as it was being controlled by pad, probably 360 by the looks of the poor textures and res. I shall reserve judgement till I see the PC version.

Thought I'd update this thread.

YUM! Can't wait to fly me one of those black hawks. Will be just like BF2 days

Looking at it, thats the trick, the netcodes stable and the game is playable in the same manner of bf2, codemasters could realy steal the battlefield crown.(they'd be crazy not to aim for that)

Bf2 is about the only online shooter i still play these days, it's absoultely crying out for an update to match it's brilliance in great gameplay the crowd all love.

Reguardless EA got bf2 right in what the people want, codies would be mad to ignore that, they don't have to be ultra real as in arma, or drop it to a completely simplified generic console release the way EA are heading with the bf series now. They got the flashpoint Ip, mix in bf2 with all the greatness of a flush colour pallete, console, pc gamer or otherwise, the crowd goes wild.
