The Samsung OmniaHD i8910 ... this NEEDS it's own thread.

Hopefully they can manage to squeeze around an hour of video recording with a more powerful battery too. To be honest while the lack of a Xenon flash is annoying, it's not a deal breaker... it's not exactly the type of phone you take around with you in clubs etc. If I lost it i'd cry. :D

Looks good! A contender definitely for when I change my Omnia. The capacitive screen may be an improvement for texting etc but why not a slide out keyboard too? I wonder what the text input will be like for it.

Would make it a fair bit chunkier if it had a qwerty... here's hoping the capacative screen makes text input a pleasure. :)

Price by my guestimation will be around or upwards of 400 sniffers... and no specific ETA as yet. Q2 is good enough for me though. :D

Me too, I nearly squealed like a piggy when I saw that not only is it symbian... but it's capacitive. Oh yeah, and OLED. :D

EDIT - I didn't really do any squeal of any form.

I don't actually mind Windows Mobile... I have the Omnia at the moment, and haven't had too much trouble with it... :p

hmm i was well happy when i saw the title of this thread. new omnia.....i was actually waiing for the higher res t*omnia to become available but now i see this, all was good until i read symbian.

tbh i know nothing about it but its put me on a bit of a downer, however as i know nowt about symbian it could be better than win mob, so can anyone tell me the diffs?

i already had a very quick skim through that, i just want some one who knows both op's to give me say 5points why symbian is better than win mob.

It's much more user friendly, and has a shedload of apps with a dedicated and very prolific set of devs writing for it.

I really hope so. The problem with the omnia is when you press down by the time its detected the pressure its not the right key. Capacitive will hopefully eliminate this!

i see its open source too, you know what its coded in? i also heard excel and word can be used, hmmm its looking good. so what can symbian not do that win mo can?

you knoww like in the omnia thread theres custom roms and all sorts, i suppose you can do this wwith symbian too? guess the rom has nothing to do with the os.

has it got the feature of android where virtually everything can be customized if you know how, like i remember reading about android and they say its so customizable you can customize things like the charging icon

Well Symbian is kind of a mix between the customiseability of Android and the estblished maturity/practicality of WMO. I love it personally. :)

just imagine if they found a way to put android on it, well off to do a bit more research on the omnia hd

Worth nothing though that touvh-wise the OS is not that developed, it's kind of been 're-jigged' in its latest version to make it 'touch-friendly' It's still not as slick or as user-friendly as the iPhone OS, and does have some (in my view very minor) quirks.
