Some idiot? Well whilst not a fan I'd hardly call her an idiot, for someone meant to be seen as very stupid she has gone on an aggressive task to earn as much as she can by any means possible in a very short amount of time to secure the future of her children which she won't be around to guide/provide/assist with.

If I was dying and I could get my children some money by selling my story (no matter if it was embarrassing, degrading or just straight out lies) then I would do it.

Would never wish anyone to be in her position but respect her for not just giving in and waiting for the Inevertable.
 
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing agaist Jade Goody, and if I felt like wasting energy insulting someone, then there are far worthier targets to be had. However, I do try to be consistent, and if I do not like some person for X reasons, then this will not change if they are dying or have died unless circumstances change between us for the better. I believe that this theory prevents one from being a hypocrite and enables you to be consistent with your viewpoint.

I just hope that Jade Goody has also donated some money to Cancer research to benefit other sufferers. If it was only given to her immediate family, then that for me, is just another example of selfish Darwinism. Unfortunately I think it will do little to aid public awarness as people need to be hit with a sledgehammer nowadays to take any notice of anything.
 
I'm sick of Gordon Brown trying to latch onto anything that he feels will rub off on him - typical politician imo.

I'm also sick of hearing about Jade sodding Goody - She's dying and thats a shame, certainly. Watching the news coverage however and you'd think some saint who'd done the world good was about to leave us almost Diana esque.

I'm dreading the awful day not so much for the event itself (I'm quite resigned to death - its the only certainty in life!) more the torrent of "Oh wasn't she wonderful" comments & tributes......

Imo she should die in private not public.

Ironic. She looks like an egg and will probably be in a box by Easter!

When Cancer affects a loved one I've found facing it with humor helped. (My Girlfriend has breast Cancer Before some smart ass decides to bite my head off!) Each to his / her own.

A third of the people in this thread will have cancer in their life and a fifth will die on it if the current statistics are applied. I suspect attitudes will change then as they will when close family are affected and how someone can use words like "milking her cancer" is simply beyond me. I found her annoying, to me she is an irrelevance but FFS she is about to die and is cashing in on the public who made her to support the children who are about to loose their mother.

My mother had her first bout of cancer at 21 and nearly died, it destroyed me. She got over that and then had it again when I was 35 and again it was terrible. She is again in remission and I am currently 42 so who knows what the future will bring. Cancer is evil and all I can say is the vast majority on this thread have not been touched by it and being no doubt young have a differing view on death. I see no issue in what she is doing in the last few weeks of her short life as I can choose not to read or watch about it but I feel sorry for her even though I find her annoying as hell!
 
This is just a case of two people with no shame, and no dignity.

Jade for milking this for every penny its worth and refusing to act with any kind of dignity at all and creating this freak show in the first place.

And Brown by trying to pretend he has any ******* clue what is going on and trying to prove he is a man of the people, but he cant even be bothered to learn the womans name he is pretending to give a **** about.
 
This forum seems to have a high proportion of "kids" on it. Threads like this show it.

The likes of Housey don't have to state their age to show that they have a mature opinion but others are just embarrasing themselves.

But thats the point. Cancer can happen to anyone. Its not some stupid Karma thing. Whatever someone's attitude to cancer is right now really doesn't matter because its going to make zero difference to them getting it later in life.

If I ever get cancer, I'd think I'd care even less about some ****ing celebrity who has it. In fact, I'd generally stop caring about anyone who wasn't me because I'd be too focused on myself in such a situation.
 
I would like to make a little point.

This odious creature has become ill and will die. If she had crept off in private to expire in seclusion with her family she would be deserving of quiet respect and I for one would say nothing further against her till it was all over. However by projecting herself into the public eye on an almost daily basis in order to achieve her own financial purposes, however laudable, she has lost any right to expect people like me who despise her to be quiet. I will not mock her or be cruel about her with respect to her illness, but I will comment on her personality and behaviour AS THOUGH SHE WAS NOT UNWELL.

Totally agree, I would imagine for many people with cancer who will leave their family in finicial dificulties when they die, the idea that this talentless oik can earn millions out of her disease is somewhat distasteful, especially when she isn't exactly short of a bob or two already. Personally I'm looking forward to the day where I can switch the news on or open a paper without her ugly mug staring back at me. Is it really that news worthy? Well at least Max Clifford will be earning some cash in these hard times.

The only good thing to come out of this whole episode is that it seems to have increased the uptake of smear tests by young women.

But she has the opportunity to increase her wealth for her children when her time has come, and I bet a lot of people, if given the same opportunity, would take it straight away.

I'm sure she's hardly bothered what people think of her right now, as I'd imagine she has her children's best interests at heart, and deciding to make as much money as possible to leave to them is a good idea I think.

I can't think of anyone else who has been in this situation (apart from perhaps Jordan) who have whored themselves to the media over a personal tragedy in this manner. She's already worth millions, more than enough to keep her kids comfortable for the rest of their lives without the need to work.
