PSN, Can you invite freinds to games?

Most games have an invitation system, very similar to live. I can't say how fifa handles invites but im sure some one will verify.
 
Yup, just goto online bit of fifa09 and goto your 'address book' in-game and select anyone from your friends list.

It's not exactly much more of a task to do that on the PS3, just make sure you have game auto launching turned on. When you receive an invite, quit your current game, stick the disk in of the new game and then select the invitation.
 
I recently got a PS3 and have been on Live for years, ever since the original Xbox days. There are now very few things you can do on Live that can't be done on PSN. If sony ever release an update with a private party chat feature it will be as good, if not better, than Live I'd say.

I agree actually, yes invites could be streamlined a little to allow you to accept invites before you launch a game but other than that as you say party chat is about the only major thing missing now. The lack of headsets is something that little can be done about now though :(
 
I think Sony need to just blatantly copy the 360's "home button" menu, it works great. They'd just have to re-skin it with PS3 sleekness

I love how on the 360 you have access to pretty much everything you need in a very neat and quick menu.

PS3 home button does give you access to stuff but you have to quit to get to a lot of it and it is slooooow

I would be willing to bet microsoft have patented it. I know they have patented the ability to go into the console menu and play custom music so sony have resorted to including the ability to choose custom music from within a menu in the game.

Another thing I like about Live is the information it brings up about your games. Like when a game is in the drive it will bring up info about it and provide you with all the downloads that are available for it. Really good feature that PSN needs imo. Apart from that and cross-game chat ill agree that there is little difference between Live and PSN now.
 
i really dunno wether to get a ps3 or wii...i like xbox for fifa but otherwise the exclusives don't appeal to me whereas ps3 has games i want...but i dunno what psn is like, i could do with playing one
