What is the most violent city in the world?

mexico perhaps.

see something on tv tonight that mentioned mexico being quite bad with killing's each month.

Kingston, Jamaica. For murder anyway.

Rio is up there as well:

"It notes that while 467 minors were killed in Israel and Palestine from 1987 to 2001 (date which includes the first Palestinian intifada), 3,937 minors died as a result of gang warfare in Rio de Janeiro alone. An outstanding 8 to 1 ratio."

Why is that?

Because Compton is an area in LA, like Peckham or Greenwich are areas of London.

My guess: somewhere in Cental/South America; Bogota, Sao Paulo, Rio etc.

Kingston and Jo'burg aren't bad shouts either, they'd be up there somewhere I reckon. Maybe somewhere in Eastern Europe, up Sarajevo or somewhere like that.

That's if we're talking about violence in 'peaceful' counties, ie those where a war isn't currently being waged (don't you just love that word?! It's the only context I've ever seen it be used it, anyway, I digress...)
