4 days and still cant access new site?

Hi Guys

Query for any of those who understand domains and name servers etc better than me. I recently bought a new domain name (westburyasc.co.uk) and setup a new account on my own web server I have with the domain westburyasc.co.uk. On the evening of the 18th Feb I set the name servers on the new domain to the ones given by my web host (ns1.ich-19.com and ns2.ich-19.com) but its now the evening of the 22nd and I still get a 'domain doesnt exist' when I try to browse to westburyasc.co.uk. This is the exact same proccess ive done in the past with my domains (register domain, create account with domain name, set name servers to correct) and ive never waited more than 2 days for it to propogate fully. What can I do to check this out, or have I missed something somewhere?
 
I have been building the website using the IP address for the last week, so the host is fine, im wondering about the health of the nameservers?
 
Couple of things, when I try to run checkdns.net on your domain it tells me it doesn't find it:

CheckDNS.NET is asking root servers about authoritative NS for domain
Answer from N/A: domain 'westburyasc.co.uk' not found

Your WHOIS records state the domain is still being registred, so the hold up could be with the Registrar you used, looks like 123-reg:

The Name Servers listed aren't pingable, so I can't resolve them to IP addresses, it may be worth checking that these addresses are correct as I would have imagined they would resolve to an IP in order to be queried by 3rd party hosts.

This is not true for sites like overclockers.co.uk where you can resolve the IP addresses:

No it doesn't mean that. "Registration being processed" means that the company that registered that domain hasn't paid for it via Nominet (the invoice is still open) - but the domain itself is still registered instantly. Domain registrars pay for domains on account with Nominet, up to 30 days after the initial registration.

I would point the blame at the DNS, the domain doesn't seem to exist there. Have you added the domain to your hosting?

I have created an account on my host with the domain name westburyasc.co.uk and it then gives the name servers ns1.ich-19.com and ns2.ich-19.com, which ive setup at my 123-reg control panel. Exactly as ive done for all my other domains. This is however, different name servers to what ive used before (ns1.ich-2.com and ns2.ich-2.com) so im agreeing it looks like and issue at the DNS/NS side...
 
Spoke to support at the hosting company, they have changed the name servers to ns1.ich-2.com and ns2.ich-2.com so will change them and see what happens
 
Well, the new nameservers have worked... kinda... westburyasc.co.uk is now resolving to a website... only its not my website! Its linking to a rather dodgy looking Anime website that is on the same server. When you connect to the site it changes the address to http://74.55.90.178/, but if you then add ~wasc on the end (http://74.55.90.178/~wasc/) you get to my site (sign in page as its under construction). Any ideas what the hell has happened?!?!?
 
Speak to your hosting company, that's what you pay them for (they're also the ones most likely to be able to resolve this for you). :p
 
Im in the process off, but this is the exact same process ive used for all the other sites ive setup with their own domain name and its always worked fine. just wondering where ive messed up.
 
Check the config on the Apache server, looks like there is some kind of redirect in place :p

you probably want the site header to remain www.westburyasc.co.uk not change to the IP, that just looks dodgy!

Your main page redirects to another location. Several search engines will be unable to index your site.
 
I know, its a pain in the butt. The server is a shared IP. All the other accounts work fine (resolve to there appropriate /~username sites) but this ones doesnt, just goes to the root IP
