**Street Fighter 4 - PS3 Match Arrangement Thread**

I got royally whooped by someone using her with over 2000BP. Thing is, it was the least skillful person i think i had ever played, she just spammed moves at me over and over until they connected. I'm sure a really good player could easily hand the person playing as her a new one, but still 2000BP from spamming moves? Pretty bloomin effective moves.

I'm confuzzled, a recent matchup with Pseudo showed that we are pretty much an even match, yet he has like 400BP, i can't get above 100. How are you guys selecting your matches? The only way i seem to be able to get a fight is to host my own game, but then i don't get to choose the skill level of my opponent and hes often in the 1k range.
 
i just host... accept all matches unless its 3 bar or under. if i get the flashing white icon for connection i just accept as its usually ok.

i get all sorts of matchups, ive seen anywehre between 0-2000+bp
 
Bah, must just be me. I've been researching now though, videos are surprisingly useful at giving you ideas for combos. For example i've now realised stringing together good combos with abel pretty much requires the use of those focus attacks to cut other attacks short so you can follow up... interesting.

I'll never be able to wrap my head around those combos.

do the hard trials, they will teach you EX cenceling combos and the basics

Sadly i can't even get past the second hard trial, i can do the combo fine but my timing must be off as he always blocks the second hit. Wish i could just see them all so i can get an idea rather than just sticking me with one that i can't quite do.
 
I would, but I got work at 6am and tbh, dishing more pain out to people (Hi Cavallino!) would just be wrong.

Just had 60 or so matches with Cav, we are fairly evenly matched and wins went back and forth but I had some quite long spanking runs. Was fun tho! Guile attacks badly so make him come to you ;)

Good games indeed bud. It was even stevens for awhile but then I just lost the will lol.

Watch them videos for the character you are playing, for one of the combos watching Blankas videos showed me that you need to do a super cancel to pull the move off, of course the game didn't tell me this or give any indication to do that. :p

Good games last night naan. you started off really strong but lost focus later on in our games. Did you notice I was doing force attacks when you threw fireballs? This is because it does 0 dmg but still adds to our ex charge. :)

Excellent, those are both really handy. I was in fact getting the combo 'right' but my timing is off it seems, in the youtube video even he struggles with the combo i'm trying to do, taking 3 or 4 attempts compared to all the others where he gets it first try. Hopefully the link attack indicator will help me with my timing.

I need to figure out all this cancelling malarky, it's a lot more complex than i ever could have envisaged.

This game really is a baptism of fire for non beat em up enthusiasts. Saying that however i would certainly say i'm now an enthusiast, probably clocking up more hours in the past 4 days on this game than i have on all games over the past month.

Hehe yes as is always the case; i cant seem to hack playing this game for more than just a few games at a time. My hands/brain tire out too quickly :( Yes i noticed the focus attacks, didnt know it charged up the ex gauge. thanks for the tip :p maybe we should stop playing each other cos our games are always so close :D

Im amazed the depth there is in this game - never knew it was going to be like this as i havent really followed the series since SFII. It really is an excellent game.
 
Sorry to everyone that I havent played with - just been busy and when I am on SF4 Im trying to get used to the stick.

Still finding it hard since when I swop to the pad I can pretty much own (takes me some time to get the timing back though :confused: ). I need to dedicate a day or 2 solely to it as I know once its clicks Ill be devestating ;):p. Just so difficult not to pick up the pad when Im playing online (always play pad on ranked)...

And now with KZ2 on its way it gonna be a difficult balancing act
