i on easist mode and still no good on single player mode, i get on the 3rd fighter and just keep losing, i dont remember being this bad back in the days or maybe i just suck

I fail badly, I can't yet seem to pull off super or ultra combo's with Ryu or Ken! Gonna go practice some more online, It can't get worse.

I find that moving the thumbstick a little slower gives you a better chance of pulling the ultra/super combo off

I suck to as I never really played SFII that much years ago so just keep practising, the timing seems hard when you need to do something fast.

You might pick up some tips from the Prima Street Fighter 4 book.

On the srk forums there are mentors who will help you if you can get a hold of them

If you're having problems a stick won't fix them, it can allow for more accurate play but it is by no means required to be good at the game. Best bet is to just practice with the pad, if you are still hooked in a few months then consider investing in a stick.

O.k been hitting it hard tonight and I've improved massively with Chun-Li. Normal moves I use the D-Pad but for super/ultra Combos I need to use the stick, this enables me to pull it off 4 out of 5 goes. Helps with charging moves a lot. This has upped my game no end, starting to enjoy it again now

I think the best way to improve is playing with other people. You will pick up combos and also learn different tactics, when to block when to attack

I started doing this yesterday too, it helps so much!

What I am finding frustrating is I win quite often on live and perfect everyone on arcade mode, yet I still can't beat seth?!?!

Thats because Seth is just a cheapass boss character.

It was like Vega (Or M.Bison to you lot!) in Street Fighter Alpha 3 where he would always use his ridiculous psycho Super move that covers the entire screen on you which turns the tide of the battle.

Dead or Alive 4's ALPHA-152 is a complete biatch too.

the instructions in the manual for special moves might as well be in double dutch for me

Go and do challenge mode, it's great. (trial mode specifically)

Think ill be flogging my TE stick soon. Got my ass handed to me by texurizeuk 30 -23 (whoever he is on here!).

I hate this game... wasted my entire evening

To be fair I didnt put it in my all towards the last games (but I guess neither did he).
And further, most games were very close.

I need to master some further combos really. I only know a few but I cant use them from the launchers/starters that I managed to get in with.

Tbh, I got so unlucky many times when you come in with a low kick, and I pull off the ultra while you are in mid air and I think yes! But then after the scene has zoomed out, you somehow managed to make it to the ground and block

I've notived the when the revenge bar fills up you can pull an Ultra Combo when its only half full.....is there any benifit waiting till the bar is completely full before pulling the move? Its doesnt seem to commit anymore damage.
