One-armed TV presenter 'scaring kids'

Seriously

Kids expect people to have 2 arms and 2 legs, I'd expect them to get a bit thrown out of kilter when they see a woman with half an arm missing. The whole complaint culture is driving me up the wall.

People seem content with kicking up a big fuss when a certain radio 2 present swears at an old man, we seem to be pushovers when the government want to take away all our privacy and money.

Rule 34 people, you've already missed that money making boat.

And when I was 8 my teacher had a similar arm to that presenter, sure childish jokes were made etc but I think it's particularly sad that the parents object. Seems like a backwards step to me.

I don't care. But I find it mildly amusing how people say children should be introduced to the world we live in, rather than being sheltered.

So, tomorrow, I'm sending my 5yr old off to Iraq.

Don't be an idiot. You know what was meant by it.

There's a difference between hiding the world from your child and actively placing them in unsuitable situations.

Its not that she scares the kids its just that the kids are crying for Mr Tummbles. :D

Mr Tumble is class, my niece doesn't know the difference between Justin and Mr Tumble, I love 3rd and Bird, Muffin is the best and Beakman he likes his marching powder :D

Also kids at an early age take in so much from their parents and people around them, a simply explanation from the parents and a "its rude to stare" is not hard

Heh, if the media is to be beleived (along with a few dopes) we may aswell shield them from black people, asians, americans, foreign culture, dogs, the news, jonathan ross - infact anyone who doesnt have blonde hair and blue .... hold on.....

since when did life become a balancing act on the rail of political corectness and stupid public squeemishness :(

That's one of the most moronic and ignorant comments in this thread so far, and that's going some.

God forbid you child is in the same class as disabled person, would you pull them out of the class in fear of IEDs?

Eh? I agree with the other guy and you sir are stupid. How can you bring smoking into the argument?! Smoking in a public closed space affects others around you, having an uncovered arm won't kill you! How is it selfish for her to not want to wear a glove for something she can't help? It's selfish of people like you to expect her to be an outcast and dress differently

it wasn't a serious response you ****tard

Maybe you could wear boxing gloves when at the PC so we don't have to read your ugly comments.

This is a picture of my left hand, Dons, I sincerely apologise for the offence this may have caused to any forum members.....

What a load of ****

If anything, I'd argue - to anybody - that for example, my daughter has a far better grasp and understanding of what a disability (however slight) is and how is does or does not effect the person concerned.

The general attitude does not surprise me one bit, I was told back in 1997 that my deformed hand would prevent me from being able to operate the gearbox on a Class 2 HGV.

I think my career path proved them wrong!

Crazy to think that I can get (should I want one) a disabled badge due to my hand! - Please note that I have declined such a badge as frankly I don't regard myself as disabled. neither does my friend John who has no legs!

Mr Tumble is class, my niece doesn't know the difference between Justin and Mr Tumble,

Justin is the single greatest thing about cBeebies, he is pure gold. Did you see the 'fast show-esqe' sketch show for children he did over Christmas? Gigglebox I think it was called, it was funny as hell :D
