Hi guys!

I'm torn between this monitor - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-100-SA&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat=

And

the 26" - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-072-SA

I've never had a nice gaming computer and I've never ever had the opportunity to max out my game settings in my life. And seriously I'm getting sick of it as I love my consoles but I really want to get back more into PC Gaming. So, Basically I'm planning to get the Titan Vulcan shortly.

My aim really is to get Dual Monitors with it as well as an extra 4870 and an extra 4GB depending on how finance goes.

I suppose my questions would be the following;

As I intend to game on them as well as look at charts and spreadsheets, would a 24" or a 26" be better and how would that correlate to my graphic cards? I've been trying to read about bigger monitors but i read something along the lines of pixels do not increase with the size of the monitor hence the image quality will start detiorating 26 onwards. I'm not sure about that statement but what are your thoughts?

The following mobo comes with the PC.

I'm pretty sure I can Crossfire the 4870 with another 4870. I've also read that it supports up to 16GB of Ram. I intend to get Vista Home Premium 64 bit to recognise all the ram that comes with it just to be sure. Any thoughts on this Mobo? It looks like its future proof and I'm quite happy.

XFX 4870.
Now I'm not aware if this is a stupid question but here goes. If I have 2 monitors connected to the DVI ports on my graphic card will it put strain on it and will my graphics be detiorated? Take WOW and DOW2 for example. Say i'm running it on my primary screen would the quality of my second screen drop or will the drop (if any) affect both screens at the same time? I'm sure it'll be alright once I get my second graphic crossfire card. But will it?

Second question related to graphics.
How would I know if my game could run on 2 monitors? Again, if it runs on two surely it will affect my graphics in terms of setting it lower? If it only runs on one monitor, how would I move my mouse to the 2nd screen during my game? to say check a msn chat box. Oh Lord I feel a little stupid now and I do apologise for asking the noob questions. I've never had a dual monitor at home before:(

Thats all the queries I've got at the moment. Your help will be greatly appreciated. I really really would love to get my Gaming Rig set up ASAP. But I feel like a rabbit running round in circles chasing a carrot which is being spun around by a F16 Turbine.

thanks ever so much,
sammy

Oh Lord. Just looking at the post now. Wall of Text crits my eyes for 9999 damage. (Learnt that during my WOW days when I was younger)
Sorry for so many queries guys.

The quality will not drop. You might lose a few FPS from the game but nothing worth worrying about.

I don't know. But if you do run on two monitors it will put more of a strain on your hardware and might run slower because of this.

It will run on one monitor by default. The other screen will go black

You will have to alt tab out of game to get to the desktop. Alternatively you can run the game in window mode so that you can still see your desktop on the second screen. You will still need to alt tab to get your mouse cursor on the second screen though.

I'm not 100% on all of the above but this is how I understand it. As for 24" or 26", I would personally get 24", with time games will demand more and having to run at the 26s native res will become harder and harder. Although, I personally think 24" is more than big enough!

theres an app called ultramon that allows you to easily setup dual monitors, have a look in the windows forum.

as scary says you have to alt tab out of the game if ure playing full screen, real pain :(.
