Hi

I have a dual boot XP / Vista system and was wondering if I could share any of the following folders / data between the two systems? The folders were originaly created under vista and have been moved to my F: drive. Vista is on C: and XP is on D:

Can I share each of these without corrupting them:

Windows Live mail data?

Contacts?

Documents?

Fovourites?

Links?

Music?

Pictures?

iplayer?

Thanks

Pete

iplayer?! why wouldnt you be able to use iplayer?

but anyway, easiest way of doing that would be to move your doc's folder into an easily found spot of the harddrive, say, c:\docs\ and then make sure that both OS's have that as the default docs folder.

Yes, that is what I want to do I was just wondering if it would cause problems with permissions issues or corruption - I know how to do it, I just wanted to check it wouldn't mess anything up.

I have had no problems doing this in the past (having E: as the default my documents folder on two OSs). Never shared mail using Live Mail, but have done with Outlook. Just make a backup of the folders you want to share and try it.

I did try it. Same versions of windows live mail on XP and Vista. When I loaded WLmail on XP it said the store was corrupt but, then boasted about how it had recovered from the corruption and went on to present me with empty mailboxes for all my accounts.

Would probably be OK for stuff like docs and favourites etc but not for windows live mail

Why not collect mail using IMAP instead of POP3? Then it doesn't matter how many clients you connect. This is what I do so I can check mail on my laptop and desktop.
