Eat preservatives, live longer

Rubbish. Want to live longer then eat your fuit and veg because more and more medical trials are spotting correlation between cancers/heart disease and LACK of fruit/veg etc.

For a weekly shopping bill of a reasonable £150 for an adult male, the benefits that only come from eating organic can be enjoyed.

How much!?

Me and my GF eat pretty much entirely organic/free range/British/Happy animals and easily live on £60 per week for both of us. £150 a week for one person, that's £600 per month on food! What are you eating... organic gold bullion?

Site number one describes itself as "Your resource for fasting and
juice fasting, juicing, nutrition, weight loss, vegetarian recipes, compulsive eating, food addiction and spiritual renewal"

If you're saying spiritual renewal in the same sentence as nutrition, you can see their agenda a mile away.

As far as the second website, it's well established that it's safer not to give MSG to babies or young children.

If, as the various experts say (though I find their lack of consideration of the effects of magnetism on obesity to detract somewhat from the weight of their claims) MSG causes apparent spontaneous, inexplicable obesity later in life, why is it not the case that in Asia, where MSG is perfectly legal and regularly applied to all kinds of foods, there are people inexplicably becoming obese?

Or is it that MSG may just not be that good for you, be toxic in high amounts, and being lazy and eating more calories than you burn is actually the cause of obesity.

Still, if we can BAN PRESERVATIVES and SELL ORGANIC FOODS, does it matter?

Liver toxicity is one of the most severe problems we face with eating food chemicals. When the liver is overloaded with toxins, it gets sluggish and can cause numerous health problems, some even fatal. Bile ducts can get plugged up, our livers become diseased, effecting all our internal organs.

Obesity is a problem many experts blame on food additives. Many of the toxins in the foods we eat get stored in our fat cells, making them increase in size. As a result, we are becoming more obese. It can be difficult or impossible to lose weight as these toxins slow our metabolisms. Many weight loss programs today include the elimination of food additives and preservatives. People have reported losing ten to twenty pounds in a matter of weeks just from eliminating chemicals!

Im just trying to jusitify what I said earlier when it was supposely twoddle, it says the same with searching google. If the body cant break down toxins they are stored in fat cells = causing obesity. Preservaties and additivies are toxins as they have not been part of diets for long (around 30years it appears they started to get used).

So what I said is not wrong it appears.

You're still talking twoddle. People in developing nations (who aren't living in poverty) eat far more preservatives and toxins that we do, because the laws on their being in food are so lax. They are not obese.

Your point about diets prescribing the removal of additives is also entirely false - foods with a lot of additives are high in carbohydrates/fats/sugars. If you cut the additives out of the diet, you're cutting out carbs, fats and sugars. This is what causes the weight loss. Eating fruit, vegetables and lean meats, as well as less food overall, instead of crisps, chocolate and pork chops provides far fewer calories, hence the weight loss. That's exactly what you do on an 'additive-free' diet. You do not magically replace all your food with non-additive foods.

If you can find any website that states the body voluntarily stores poisons as fat that isn't some bull**** spiritual/organic pseudo-science website, post it up.

This is just another ridiculous attempt to lay the blame for obesity and unfitness on someone other than the person eating all the food.
Oh, it's not my fault, it's that chemical they put in those 7300 packets of crisps and other unhealthy foods I ate in the last ten years that made me fat, not the fact that I ate 7300 packets of crisps and the other food and didn't exercise!

Fat toxin storage! Go organic! Lose 90lbs of weight in just four hours by cutting out additives and drinking energised water!

Im not saying its the sole source am I? I said it doesnt help in the over all picture.

People in developing nations I imagine are not as pysically lazy as people in the western culture. Drive to work > sit at a desk 9-5 > eat rubbish food > Go home > sit in front of the tv until bed time whilst eating > start all over.

How many people do you think do an easy job all day (pysically) and then do sod all exercise?

You can also still eat a lot of the same foods if you decide to cook them yourself instead of buying ready made stuff, walking around ASDA you will see some of the junk people fill the trolleys with its sickening. Your also not going to completely remove carbs/fats/sugars from a diet are you? Your just going to consume less in a freshly prepared meal comapred to one bought from the freezer of a local supermakret.

Just to clarify I AM NOT SAYING its the entire reason people are fat I understand why they are and I see it every day and it annoys me as much as it does you. Im just to trying to prove the points I made earlier.

rubbish - non of that is true or backed up with any scientific evidence.

Actually, it's more associated with obesity and alcohol intake than general "food chemicals".

When the liver is overloaded with toxins, it gets sluggish and can cause numerous health problems, some even fatal.

The same can be said of any organ in the body. In fact, the same can be said of any compound: everything is toxic in the wrong amounts. Even water.

Obesity is a problem many experts blame on food additives. Many of the toxins in the foods we eat get stored in our fat cells, making them increase in size. As a result, we are becoming more obese.

Source? The World Health Organisation seems to disagree, they don't mention them at all:

WHO said:
The fundamental cause of obesity and overweight is an energy imbalance between calories consumed on one hand, and calories expended on the other hand. Global increases in overweight and obesity are attributable to a number of factors including:

* a global shift in diet towards increased intake of energy-dense foods that are high in fat and sugars but low in vitamins, minerals and other micronutrients; and
* a trend towards decreased physical activity due to the increasingly sedentary nature of many forms of work, changing modes of transportation, and increasing urbanization.

Preservaties and additivies are toxins as they have not been part of diets for long (around 30years it appears they started to get used).

Rubbish. Ethanol/alcohol is a toxin and it's been a part of our diet for millennia. So has almost everything you listed in the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter example, and sodium nitrate is a preservative that's also found naturally in leafy green veg.

If you want scientifically recognised evidence, try a peer reviewed source. The only one I know of that you can get into without some sort of membership is Pubmed Central. You'll need to get used to scientific lingo but it's worth it to not look like a muppet when talking about science.
