Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Anyone seen the prices Hori EX2 sticks are going for on ebay? Its madness, £80+ for a stick that cost me £25 (and they were £9.99 for a while). I'd be tempted to make a quick profit if the alternative wasn't a 360 pad.

There must be no arcade sticks left in the country for the EX2 to be marked up that much. Dread to think what the TE sticks go for

Regarding the EX2, does anyone else find the stick itself quite 'loose'? Like I can do a little 360 with it without touching the microswitches. Dunno if it has anything to do with me whacking it a few times (damn you Seth) but I'm curious to know if its a trait of this particular stick.

I think lobby based games like this should have a sound effect when someone joins your lobby. Otherwise you have to constantly watch the screen for what might be a while.

Seems an obvious thing to put in :/

I've been looking at a few auctions and it's insane. Saw one earlier for a 360 TE, guy had it up for £265 Buy It Now with a Best Offer facility available - I thought "that's madness no one is gonna pay that", I check the purchase history and 3 people (with decent feedback) had already bought 3 at £279.99 from him. Insane.

I've got my 2 in their boxes at the moment, I think I'll probably just sell them on based on what I've seen so far. I was unsure about spending £120 on one, but £280? I mean jesus.

They are loose, but for SF4, extremely easy for combo's, its much trickier using the stick on SF2 Remix HD.

Loving the custom art

Anyone else feel like they're getting left behind? Every time i log on and fight i find the guy that i was evenly matched with has become far better than me, i'm running out of people to fight D:

I haven't been on for a couple of days, if you fancy a warm up let me know. Problem is I tend to work nights, but I have thursday night off this week, and then off all weekend.

My problem is i live in a small flat so when the missus gets home from work the PS3 is typically a no go area. I reckon everyone has found some amazing training mode they use when i'm not around.

I am about to give up playng this in ranked games. Too many one trick ponys using cheap tactics to win. I also hate the guy that doesn't attack but just sits in the corner waiting for you, whats the fun in that? The sad thing is, all these players are 2k+ on battle points.

Figure out a tactic to beat them. That's what it's all about.

Can anyone explain exactly how the Battle Points system works?

I have about 800 points. Cannot get more than 76 per match, I think.

Is it based on type of victory? Number of rounds? etc.

the BP seems dependant on your opponent, you win more if you beat someone at a higher bp than you, and gain very little for beating someone with lower bp than you.

also works the other way, you lose little for losing to someone higher than you but a lot for losing to someone lower than you.

it seems that way anyway, i dont know the exact details

i wish they made it so that both players return to the lobby after a ranked match (like in player matches) so they can at least rematch and decide for themselves what they want to do. really annoys me when if lose and dont get the opportunity to rematch.

It's based on the number of points the person you beat has. For example when i had 150 points i beat someone with 1500, this won me 140ish points, whereas if i beat someone with similar pointage i get the aforementioned 76 points.

The number of points you lose is determined by how many points your opponent had and how many rounds you won. For example, if you lost a game but won one of the 3 rounds the number of points you would have lost is halved.

At least that's what i can tell.

I think it should be a bit nicer to players with fewer points. For example i've won several rounds against people with thousands of points but lost the overall fight, surely it would be fairer to reward me a couple of points for not embarrassing myself as opposed to penalizing me one point.

Yeah it is annoying I met a Bison player who literally just sat there in the corner waiting for me to move so he could charge forward.

I gave up using 'Quick Match' too. now I only use custom and make sure it searches for 3 round matches, so cheap to set it as 1 round.

Just been doing arcade mode on hardest to practice, good stuff. :p

Man, wish I'd bought a couple myself now. Was tempted but didn't think they'd go for that much. Sell one and the other is paid for.

I'll just have to settle for modding my EX2, got some proper sanwa parts on their way. Won't get it done for the tourney but, judging by how much time I'll have to play this week, I'll prbably crash out spectacularly in the first round anyway.
