Hi all,

I'm doing a couple of track sessions at Brands in March and I've basically said to Westy that if he wants to take my car round the track he's welcome to.

He's one of the few drivers I would fully trust driving my car...

How are you guys when it comes to others driving your car? do you get edgy or nervous? or are you cool with it? :)

Sure, i would trust a couple of my friends with my car.

in fact on the day i got mine i let my mate (who is insured) drive it a bit.

On the road and insured - some of them.

On the track - yes but any breakages will be paid for.

In money or blood. Preferably the former.

I don't think many of my mates would take a car of mine on the track, as they'd feel obligated to pay up if a consumable (brakes, clutch etc) went, regardless of whether it was on the way out anyway. Same for me.

i trust 3 of my friends, and my brother. as i have DOC and my car off the road, i often drive their cars - mutal trust is handy. they'll happily lend me their cars for the weekend etc

Depends which friend and which car.

None of the cars I've ever lent to friends have been ones you would want to take round a track. If they're stuck they get to lend my spare car which is invariably some old banger.

Similar thing here, I have a few mates who between us we would happily lend each other our cars/bikes for the day/weekend.

only if they were use to the car and its handling characteristics. which they wouldn't be. because it isn't their car. :p

so thats a big no. :D

J, westy will show you how to DRIVE that thing! :D

I've let a few mates drive mine, but only when I've been in the car. I wouldn't throw them the keys and let them do what they wish with it.

I'll let anyone have a drive.

I like being driven while in the rear set of my car, so I always take the opportunity to let someone have a long, hard drive.

Yeah I'd probably get edgy, but if I know for a fact they're good at driving then it'd be alright.

Don't like the sound of anyone but me nailing my car tbh.

I have let a mate drive it before, but i'm not sure about a 15 min track sesssion.

No, because when something goes wrong and you're left with a 3k drive sculpture and a so called friend who isn't willing to pay for the damages and is no longer your friend due to this then you will figure out its not worth the hassle.
