Yeah they were pretty good, I was just awesome as ANY
. It definitely does seem that mixing play and not doing the same things makes chances. We got more in that game and the first than we get on most nights...
Ive pretty much got a handle on short lobbed passes - sent a few onto Skip right into his path...
A few general musings:
Defending is easy once youve learnt your opponents tactics. I personally dont mind absorbing attacks especially when its a player keeping the ball - thats when I can stick a CPU defender on him (using circle) and I can move to anticipate a pass/cross/shot. Its when they do quick passes so you cant get near to the person with the ball thats so devestating to the defence...
As Ive said before crossing just doesnt seem to work in Club like it does in 1v1s or offline mode, since you are more reliant on another human to get in the right place at speed whereas in normal play the CPU ensure they are and then releases control at the right time. Fast passing (with 1-2s to gain space) usually doesnt need to take that into consideration, just making it simple is the key IMHO.
We just need to keep the ball more and not lose the ball by either turning into a tackle or wanting to hog the ball when passing is a much better option (the ball travels faster if its not stuck on the end of your boot
). We are so brittle on the counterattack because all the controlled players will be still in attacking positions and the ANY player probably needs time to work out where his defensive players are (and where the opponents are).
It really grates me when people lose the ball (its worse than offsides since you have time to regroup then) because it puts the whole team in jeopardy and on the back foot. It might sound like Im making a mountain out of a molehill but just remind yourself of how we normally concede...
Man U using 4-3-3 suck though...
