Champions League **Spoilers** - 24 & 25 Feb

Man Utd in the 90's and early 00's used to take it to teams a lot more in the European cup, and frankly with the teams we had at that time we underperformed. In the last few seasons SAF has got a lot mot savvy, we are in europe very very hard to score agaisnt.

I think 0-0 is a good result, in fact for Utd i think it's better than a 1-1, because even that result would have given us an away goal it may of meant that we played negatively at Old Trafford.

We will attack now at home, well, we have to attack, we are a better team and we should win the tie.

Man U demonstrated their lack of killer instinct in Europe again tonight. They bottled it again.

I can't believe a side of their quality only has 3 European Cups....

ITV have the equivalent of the people you find in a kitchen at a party as their commentators.

I've got more medals on my swimming trunks than their 'expert pundits' have put together.

Can't believe that was only 1 - 0. Bendtner and Eboue proved yet again they have no composure with shots or the final ball, bloody uselsss. Nasri was superb. I can't see us struggling against them back in Rome to be honest they were pretty awful all night.

Bendtner had relatively few chances to be honest, there isn't a striker in the world who doesn't miss chances, hell Henry missed a pretty decent amount. But you also have to remember, Bendtner and especially Eboue have all year been played essentially in desparation by Wenger, dropped when playing well, used as scapegoats and are only getting played when others are injured, it hardly does their confidence any good.

Eboue was blooming great tonight, yes sometimes he should pass and he doesn't, and sometimes he makes the wrong decisions, so does everyone. he gave us the drive to go forwards, good interplay, his chance was deceptive, the defender recovered excellently and there was never actually a point where there wasn't a defender and a keeper between him and the goal. He won, without cheating, loads of freekicks in great positions, but our relative crappyness at them and we didn't really threaten from most. I wouldn't play him for his shooting ability, but his driving forwards and defensive cover, over the two hapless twits, easily. Wenger screwed us later in the game, taking off Bendtner when he had been very effective wasn't the right move, he was up to speed and playing great, Vela never got into the game, he stopped us having a target man to win headers and hold up the ball which he'd done great. Eboue should have been subbed around the 70th as he's barely played a full game lately and was knackered, considering he was running the entire length of the pitch, full speed, and popping up all over the left side of the pitch in their box aswell, he had a right to be tired. Worked harder than anyone on that pitch tonight tbh.

I would say again that Denilson looked not great defensively, them giving us the ball constantly helped loads, Song when he came on looked pathetic. When we've actually managed to play this kind of enthusiastic fast breaking football(which is a rarity) it only shows up how slow and useless Song/Denilson are at that football. Diaby had one or two moments of brilliance with an almost perfect long ball to RVP, but other than that, was generally poor, missed passes constant fouling, no tackling ability to speak of.

It was a good performance that would only have been improved by Denilson, Diaby and Song not being involved. Clichy made one early mistake where he stepped up, missed the challenge and left the guy to run in behind, other than that he was absolutely fantastic, intercepting constantly, running the ball, pushing up the field.

Again we had next to no support from a attacking central midfielder though, Denilson/Song offer no threat at all. To get anywhere near a cup this or next year they have to be dropped. Again tonight I think Vela uptop, Eboue as the DM, RVP right and in the future Arshavin/Fabregas in the central mid role is going to be our strongest team. or vela left/Nasri right and RVP upfront.

I'll disagree with that. Roma are very different when playing in Rome... just think of when they played against Chelsea. They haven't recovered from beating Utd at home only to lose by such a big margin away in England - in fact that's the only place where they struggle.

Also, when Pizarro came on the game changed a lot which leaves me to think that when members of the 1st team are playing things will be quite different - Vucinic, Juan, Aquilani can all make a difference. Totti is just starting to get fit after another battle with injury.

Why's it a case of 'bottling it'

Winning the champions league on penalties suggest we have 'bottle'

Fail

i agree with Xon, it's going to be a tough away leg with a 1 goal lead especially with our current lack of firepower.....and Totti @ home is a far different animal to the Totti away.

playing in Italy is never easy but it will be a leg i am very much looking forward to as i think we play much better with the pressure on us and hopefully we might have 1 or 2 back such as Cesc/Eduardo.

Eh? Eboue made 4 or 5 great runs admittedly and was better than he's been recently. He should have scored and on 2 occasions he should have played someone through to put them 1 on 1 with the keeper and ended up running straight into the defenders.

They have both played loads of games this season and have dissapointed in virtually all of them. I don't see how you can keep defending them regardless of how they perform. Arshavin came in and did better in 1 game then Eboue has done all season! Same with Eduardo and Bendtner.

I think we took our foot off the gas towards the end and became more defensive, especially when Diaby went off. I know it'll be tough in Italy but i think the fact they have to come and score will play into our hands even more.

Yea, made that point above. Hopefully this will stretch them, as they have 90 minutes to prevent an away goal, and well, we have 90 to score one now.

The trouble is...taking those chances when presented is a whole different matter :(

Arsenal were awesome last night, I wish every game was against a good team :(. Roma have to attack in Rome and if Arsenal score 1 on the counter then Roma need 3. Would have been awesome to get 2 or 3 (what was deserved) but currently Arsenal are in a decent position and one that I would have taken before the game.

I don't know why so many of the Manu fans get on Parks back. He has a extremely hard job to do not getting over run when so many of the manu players are so fast in attack. His work rate and attitude is first class.

I'd be very happy if you sell him and everton bought him.
