Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

You're joking aren't you?

His Ultra is very hard to pull off and he is easy to beat.

I've played as him and didn't find it hard to do, it goes through everything and is a guaranteed ~50% hp off the other opponent.

His special move throws also seem to go through nearly every other attack.

Do you guys think capcom will ever put out a patch that balances out a few of the fighters?

Was thinking the same thing.

I was also thinking how disadvantaged Guile is now.
If you get knocked down, you have to wait until you hit the ground to press down so that you can do a quick recover. But that means you have to wait to charge for your sonic boom/flash kick as you get knocked down wasting precious time which you can be using to charge.

His flash kick is vulnerable from certain kicks at certain angles. Really, only using low flash kicks can partially remedy this.
Finally, his recovery from flash kicks/supers/ultras is painfully slow compared to that of other moves of its kind e.g. dragon punch.

Play Ojste as Zangief. You'll see how easy it is to counter Gief's style.

I have to completely change my style to beat him.

his ultra is easy man... i dont think hes cheap because i dont like labeling things as cheap but hes an absolute beast of a character, he has HUGE priority on his stuff and one mistake is very very costly, plus his huge health too.

the way to play vs zangief (as ken and i guess most others) is to run. he should be chasing you. leg sweep his lariets, and be careful of jumping in/doing cross ups because his lariet will most likely beat it. once you are on the ground, pray that you guess right lol. chip away as much health as possble from range. stay the hell away from him on when hes grounded if he has his super/ultra ready

its much easier said than done, hes considered one of the best chars in the game for a reason

ggs Ojste, you learn so quickly it's infuriating, ran out of potential combos to use out of my potential three by the end of the second match D:

It's easy to initiate, but unless your opponent is standing right next to you, it's a **** to complete.

if it had any sort of range it would be stupid broken lol :D. its strength and priority make up for it.

you basically cant do it from standing from what ive seen, it has to be buffered from something so after a decent move with good recovery or from grounded/jumping.

I wouldn't mind Zangief if he didn't have such a stupid amount of health. I can only play the running game so long with abel as all his moves end up with you finishing standing next to them, ready to do a mixup combo (which your standard online gief player will simply overcome with a lariat and rinse and repeat his way to victory). I'll keep my distance and pummel him with several long range kicks, think i'm doing well, but then he'll get his chubby mits on me and OH! Suddenly one throw has taken away 1/4 of my health but all my hits have taken away 1/5th! All the other powerful characters like C Viper, Akuma and Seth have reduced health, i don't understand why gief doesn't is all.

As i say, heavy damage and a high priority are fine with me, but a huge amount of health to back that up? I just can't deal with it... one day i'll win i'm sure.

Streeteh we need to have a game.
You up for one tonight?

Ostje - Thanks for the games buddy and the tip on focus blocks ;)
(But tbh I think it complicated my gameplay :D But I will need to practice more with it as it is very important to use).
Sorry I had to dash off, I needed to go for a poop :D

Indeed we do, but i'm not sure if it'll be tonight mate. Focus blocking is a powerful tool indeed, a difficult tool though. Still working on learning focus cancelling.

np mate :D

i need to get my basics down, im getting owned by crossups! i dunno if its the lag costing me or if im just too slow. you need to block in the opposite direction once they pass you right?

ive also fallen into a really had habit of throwing fireballs at mid range and getting badly punished for it :(

trouble with the focus attacks is that it has huge payoffs and also huge downsides... you take a mad amount of damage if you do it wrong but if you can hit them with a level 2 charge or higher, its a free combo/ultra :o

seems fine for me, i got a message on sf4 saying i got disconnected from the playstation network but i quite blatently hadn't :D
