Older men and Schoolgirls

The issue is weather the man is taking advantage, there is no paedophilia issue, there are plenty of well developed hot 16 year olds.

But at the same time some 16 year olds can be real crafty *****s and so who cares as long as both are happy.

what an adult dating a child?

she's under 18 so she's not a adult, so that makes her a child in my book, it's fair enough a 17, 18 or 19 year old dating a 16 year old, but anything older than that in most cases has issues... and a 35 year old well he's a dirty man

Still doesn't make him a Paedophile. A Paedophile is somebody who is EXCLUSIVELY sexually attracted to pre-pubescent children. Dating a 16-year-old doesn't make him a Pedo.

At the very worst, he could be a Ephebophile. And to be honest probably 90% of the male poulation would come under that group ;)

I detect envy. You'll deny it vehemently, but you'll be lying.

lol - i went out with an 18 year old when i was 26 and that was wrong looking back, but least she was at uni and classed by law as an adult, i felt bad enough going round to visit her parents when she was back from uni. it was like the dad wanted to kill me.

but 35 and 16 - they guy is a clear perv......... it's wrong simple as that... anyone who says otherwise is a perv too :p

got look at it like you have a 16 year old daughter and she comes home from school with some dirt bag who is near your age and drives a xr3 escort

Her young nubile body is key. All the other bits surrounding it is disturbing.

Meeting her parents for the first time
Understanding what the hell she's talking about (music, culture, jokes)
Pretending that you can stay awake till 4am clubbing on a school night

One could imagine that on the night of her 16th birthday, you're both waiting in a hotel room together until midnight....

morally objectionable to have consentual sex with a 16 year old?

older men are infinitely higher status than a similiarly aged man of say 16-19. I can't say its the first of heard of this. I remember girls around this age at my school dating much older guys and the time never understood mainly because i wanted to muck around with her ( :( )

The grounds people have provided for morally question ability don't take into account that both people are consenting and thats really the only thing that matters. I've heard of 16 years old's having 43 year old boyfriends for example. Its the same for us guys as girls attraction is not a choice.

You all seem to think it's some kind of sordid sexual thing... Which it probably is, but people can interact without sex being an issue at all. But yea... I also don't understand how it's so wrong if she were 15 yet perfectly fine now she's 16, there could be only 1 day in that distinction.

Does this apply to all of the UK or (as the poster is saying) is it different in Scotland? I honestly don't know as Scottish law is sometimes different.

Some of the Act is specific to Scotland - but those parts are marked 'Scotland' :)

Still not paedophilia.

What would he gain from the relationship other than a good bonk?

Is there any other point to a relationship?

I doubt you'd even get that with a 16 year old. It's the same as going with a virgin, I can't see the attraction, but that is probably the attraction for that kind of man.

haha - you need to see some of the 16 year olds out on the town in Blackpool - that'll change your viewpoint!

and a 31 year old well he's a dirty man

Yup and good luck to him I say ;-)

Edit:-

Just realised I'm 31 as of last Monday but I don't have a hankering to go after 16 yr olds (my wife is only 27 though).

One question for you all. If you were 16 and a 31 yr old woman approached you in a club, offered to buy you a drink, then offer you a lift home in her car or even a "stay over" - what would you say?

I happened to flick over to the Paul O'Grady show yesterday and they had Robert Vaughan the actor on, him out of The Man From Uncle if you don't know who he is. Anyway he seemed to be reminicing about his early years in Hollywood and he mentioned at one point he dated Natalie Wood, again famous actress of the time. The convo seemed to be going very normally until he causually announced that she was 15 at the time, I guess he would have been in his early twenties. He then went on to suggest that she was almost working her way through several actors at that point in time. I can just imagine the look of panic that must have been on the faces of the people on the production gallery. "For gods sake don't let him say he shagged her!" I bet was one thing shouted at Paul O'Grady.

I think it depends on the people involved and the motives behind it. People can be attracted to eachother and have lots in common even though many years apart. As long as respect and friendship are the core reasons behind the relationship and they get on then why not. A friend who is 20 is currently going out with a woman twice his age and they're really good together.

Yes but its not about the age difference, its about the fact she's 16, thats too young. i think 25 year old, and 65 year old is fine, but 16 and 31 is just :/
