Hi, I've heard this is a great place for help on PC building. So if anyone has any spare time, could you recommend me a good value spec for a tower geared towards gaming, net browsing and media(watching DVDs, streams etc)?

I already have monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers and an OS, so it would just be the tower.

Any help would be much appreciated, cheers.

P.S: I'm not sure if this matters, but the monitor im using and would like to carry on using is an old dell CRT, with a max refresh rate of 85. (I brought this up as I'm not sure if this monitor could handle advanced graphics cards? correct me if im wrong!)

No issue with the monitor, the card should come with a DVI-->VGA converter so you'll be able to just plug it in :) Above rig will rip through most games, especially if you overclock the proccy. It'll do 3.2GHz no problems, most likely much more.

Edit: Forgot DVD drive, just add any old one for £15 onto that.

Kenny, before I order all these parts, are you sure there isn't anything thats missing? or a peice of hardware that you might not be too sure about? Also, would you recommend OC building it(if available) then delivering or me having ago myself(with little experience)? Thanks a lot Ken!

personally i would save the money and build it yourself, very easy nowadays, and with a little help from some videos from youtube on how to/walkthroughs on actually doing it you cant go wrong :p plus we are always here :D

Thank you very much kenny, I've just ordered the two parts you recommended along with the others. I feel fairly confident about building the tower and I'll make sure to visit these forums if I'm in need of assistance.

Similar to a system I'm looking at building - however noticed on the Abit website that the e5200 doesn't appear on supported processor list.

Presume however from the suggestions here that the combo of the ip35 pro XE and 5200 are okay together?

Would the this week only memory - Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 X 2GB) DDR2 8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX8500D2K2/4G) - be okay with this combo?

I doubt you will have much trouble building... following the motherboard user manual page by page will tell you exactly what to put and where or as someone said above there is plenty of guides about and ofcourse the forums...
