Metallica Tour - Feb/March 09

no they're not, the normal attendance at the arena is below 14k (I've worked there for 4 years) and an hour and a half before support isn't an unusual doors time

I was told by a friend who worked there that the capacity of an end stage floor standing event is approx 19k. I'm sure the normal attendance is indeed less. Even so I've been to many with door times of 1-1.5 hours before, though the majority do seem to be 1.5 hours now, so I guess the 2 hours of Metallica is justified, it just seemed like a loooong time!

the view will be ace from anywhere

that pic looks great! got myself tickets for MEN arena tonight. free tickets and free onsite parking :D

Got back from Nottingham show not long ago, and they were astounding as usual. Set list, from what I can remember was :

...

I've probably missed a couple of tracks there and put some out of order, being a little intoxicated throughout. :D

Did they play Battery?

heh, that would be the cause of the confusion, it's 1.5 hours, afaik the sword are on at 7, although the tickets do say 7:30 they wont fit it in before 11 otherwise

oh and capacity for end stage is 19-20k depending on whether they use the seats behind the stage, centre stage could be upto 21. either way it's going to be mint, and I get to see some of it from inside the pit barrier :D:D:D:D

haha, 2nd to last post has put the only dent in an absolutely amazing night for me
i would kill to see no leaf clover.
that was simply astonishing, waiting with the band before running out to ecstacy of gold was possibly the most excited I have ever been

best performance ive seen of them since 1987, truly AMAZING ,,, theres no other live band that can still captivate an audience like the tallicats' can

11/10 ... speechless

...and that is why I've seen them 17 times with 2 more times to add this year. Nobody else is in the same league, the nearest I can think are either AC/DC or Tool when they are on form (unlike the last Download performance where they were a bit indifferent).

Was a brilliant gig! Like you said you dont get bands these days who can get an audience ALL on their feet screaming, so rarely happens!
Was a bit dissapointed they didnt play Battery, Creeping Death or Fuel though :(
And the end was a bit of an anticlimax, wasnt sure if they had finished or not and they didnt really go out with a bang :S enjoyed it none the less though
