I broke the plane!!!!!

On 'small airfield' stage, as the plane was taxi-ing across the background, i threw a dragon punch and took the end of the wing off!!!!
Well impressed :D

I know you can knock down the barrels in Scotland, is there anything else???

I find that airfield stage really odd. I'm guessing its meant to be American by it being Guiles stage and also the other American character ( the boxer )being in it. but having giraffe roaming in the background and what looks like african plains and black soilders

Are capcom making some political statement ? or just got a little confused ...

A little tip for fighting dalshim, i didn't realize but in mid air if you kick his stretched arms he takes damage, and he has a very low hit priority. So basically you know those lame players that just jump back spamming punches? Just jump up and stick a medium kick into his arms as he punches and you take him down, managed to nearly perfect a guy who had over 1000BP due to figuring that out.

Has anyone got any tips for Rose at mid range? If I do a soul spark, I get jumped in on and am left defenceless. If I do a soul spiral, the attack won't reach and again I'm open to attack. The only way I've been able to figure out to do in this situation is to try and anticipate the enemies move and go for a soul throw if they try to jump in, or go for a backwards strong kick (I think that's the one) or a soul spiral if they move in from the front. It seems if I try and jump in, I usually get knocked out of the air. A soul throw is risky if I miss it as I'm left open to anything when I land.

Are there any other options open to me, or is just a case of me mixing it up a bit more and punishing more when I get an opening?

Starting an offensive with a special move is generally considered risky at best with pretty much every character, use the hard training mode for rose and that'll teach you some combos that allow you to open up you opponent enough to get a special move in. Same goes for ultras/supers, so many times online i'll just be standing there and someone will unleash an ultra, i'll jump out of the way and reply with one back.

Special moves are generally meant to be finishers to combos, after playing in training i realized even heavy punch/kicks are to be rarely used unless you've already softened an opponent up with a few light/medium attacks.

Sorry i couldn't join your invitation last night v0id, was playing with Lucifurr. Btw, when's best for you for our 1st round tourny match? I'm working Saturday and Sunday, but finish both days at 4, so either evening is fine for me. I'm thinking around 7 or 8? Need some warmup time ;)

I guess this is one of the reasons I get beat so much then. :p

With most of the characters I struggle to get past normal challenge 4 let alone the hard ones! I blame it all on the controller but I guess the key is just to keep trying until I can do them!

The only time I can ever get guaranteed ultra hits is when people jump in on me and I manage to react in time. Rose's ultra seems to connect really easily, so even if just the enemy's foot is in front of you, her ultra seems to score a hit. It doesn't look right on the screen but that's to my advantage so I don't mind! :D

One big tip i can give you in challenges is to not button mash. See, if you hit the button too early it removes the chance to hit the 'correct' timing, so for example say i was lunging in and had to hit heavy blow at the right moment but mashed the button instead i would hit the button at the right moment but because i also hit it too early due to the mashage it won't continue as a combo. Just do the bit you can over and over again, changing the timing of the hit you seem to miss, when you find the right timing, practice a few times and get it perfect, then move onto the next button in the sequence.

It's painstaking, but worth the effort. Without decent knowledge of at least one of the hard trial combos you really will struggle online. I only bothered to learn the two that allow my ultra and super to connect flawlessly; that seems to be enough to beat the low end of the skill bracket. When i hit 1000BP i can see me needing to hit the hard trials again.

The trial combos i struggle with are the ones involving focus attacks, i just can't seem to get the timing right, i just end up stood there froze for a second unable to do anything :\

When they involve focus attacks there's often more to it than is said on the move listings such as cancelling. Have a look on youtube for someone actually completing the trial you're stuck on, it can sometimes shed a lot of light.

Yes I noticed that I seem to do that some times. I think there is one combo which goes jumping hk, croucing medium punch, light soul spark then her super or something like that. In my haste half the time the second part is always a kick instead of a punch (or punch instead of kick whichever way round it is). I think that may have been the one where I tried what you said (do it stage by stage) but I can still never do the whole thing when I try. :p

I will try and perservere with that method though if you think that's the best way and maybe one day I will have managed to complete the challenges! Let's forget about pulling off the combos consistently for the time being. Don't run before you can walk and all that. :p

I'm still having trouble with Ryu's 2nd Hard Trial.

I can't get the crouching heavy punch to land after the solar plexus punch. Then after that I think i'll have a problem landing the shoryuken as after holding down to do the crouching heavy punch and trying to shoryuken at the same time I sometimes ending up doing a hadoken.

I can only hope this happens in our match ;)

Probably sunday eve would be best for me mate, not quite sure what my plans are yet so I'll let you know.
