True.

Yes it will be. Syke says the 3D looks better. :)

By 'looks', does he mean visually better or that the match engine technically works better? (I'm presuming it's the latter but thought I'd ask just in case Syke got new glasses or something :p)

...I haven't gotten around to setting up a new game yet, just doing it now :)

Technically he said.

Me either. Muchos editing to be done. :D Like removing the Utd debts that almost crippled me in a previous savegame. :(

Good. I read through the change list earlier and they do seem to have addressed most or all of the problems that I have seen.

Haha, I do that too :) You saying 'like' makes me think you're editing other things as well though... ?

:o I like to set the loaned players to be recallable. For instance Fraizer Campbell was in the Spurs reserve team. I'd want him playing in the first team so I might have him back at OT as my youth striker on the bench to come on for 20 mins or so at the end of a game. :)

I also edit out the Glazers completely. Delete them from the database. :D

As someone who also removed the annoying Glazer debts, I'd say Marc is simply more liberal than most with the finer details of the game :D

Anyway, I have £30m remaining transfer budget burning a hole in my pocket and am not sure who to spend it on, there must be someone!

Already signed Fiorillo (£4m), Rafinha (£7.5m), Camacho (£14.5m) and Sakho (£19m - ouch, he must have come out on or near the max of his random PA).

In my last save I went with Neville rather than sign Rafinha/Srna/whoever for the first year and let Rafael come through quickly, but Neville's CA has been reduced a fair bit on this update :(

Sold Fletcher to Citeh for £30m as normal and O'Shea to Sunderland for £7m.

Liberal is exactly how I would describe it! :D

Where do you feel your team is weakest? Perhaps not in terms of player quality for a position but perhaps in terms of injury proneness?

Fiorillo does look good. How soon would you have him in the first team? I think VdS is OK for half a season or so and then Foster seems to do brilliantly. I find that after the first season I need a new GK as VdS has just declined too much. :( Asenjo looks pretty good I think but I can't help but feel Utd could and should have a top name keeper to follow on from VdS. :)

I got Darijo Srna for £12m, Miguel Veloso for £9.25m and Fernandinho (also from Shakhtar like Srna) for £9m. I think Scholes is on his way out as well and so I like to give Anderson a competition for AMC. :)

I bought Sakho for £10m if that annoys you! :D

Yeah Neville whilst technically OK, just can't cope with many players because of his slow pace which will only get worse. Brown/Hargreaves are OK here plus there is Rafael and I always like to buy Opare (£200k minimum release fee at Real Madrid or was £200k on 9.2) and Santon for the future. :)

Sold Fletcher to Citeh for £30m as normal and O'Shea to Sunderland for £7m.
Pretty much what I've done in the past. :)

Do you keep Manucho after he returns from Hull? He looks OK as a striker but doesn't seem to get many goals at Hull and although his wages are low selling him looks to be an easy £3m or so to put towards a much better striker. :p

LOL :D :D

Just noticed that my Dad is in the game!! :D
Fo sho?! Coach or physio I'm guessing?

I can never get Berbatov to score enough goals and he won't improve due to age so I was looking for a striker (a ST rather than a FC). I offered £30m for Benzema but it was rejected. I'll probably just stick with what I've got and rotate Berb and Tevez then try for Benzema again after one season. After (hopefully) winning the league once I always find it easier to sign players. The huge transfer budget helps :D

Fiorillo is a long, long, long term prospect. I always loan him out for the first three or four seasons and... well I haven't gotten past four seasons yet on fm09 :p What I normally do is use VDS and Foster for the first season then sign Hugo Lloris at the beginning of the second by which time he's ready to be immediate first choice. I might try to pry Casillas from Madrid this time around depending on how much money I spend on other players. My definite buys for the second season - Messi (always signs a new contract with a release clause around £46-49m), a first choice striker - Benzema probably, a young backup for Rooney - usually Bojan but I guess I'll actually have to pay for him this time! - and a first choice goalkeeper - Lloris or Casillas. I always sell Nani to Barca for £50m after signing Messi. Berbatov will go (I managed to sell him to Real for £42m in my last game).

It does! :( I tried to get him for much cheaper, gradually making higher offers, but they just weren't having it. I can normally sign him for between £11m and £14m (their board would always step in and accept an offer in that region) but not this time. £10m! How?! (Presuming that he has turned out at the very bottom of his random PA in your game is making me feel better :p)

Yeah, I wanted someone to go straight into the first team, Santon and Opare are too young, Rafael becomes first choice for me after two or three seasons.

Pretty much what I've done in the past. :)

After he returns from hull I get rid of the huge piece dead wood that is Manucho as soon as possible.

A lot of Utd managers do seem to find it hard to get Berba to play well. I have to say that I completely object to his being called Berbaflop. Just because it sounds like the next step up from teraflops in computing. :D

On my last game I got Berba to score 11 goals in 28 league appearances with 6 assists and 3 Man Of The Match award with an average rating of 7.04. :)

Just found out how to see all the goals a player scored in a previous season and not just league goals! 27 Berba scored for me in the first season. :) I think that counts as pretty damn good!

So would you recommend getting Fiorillo now and getting him trained up under the Utd coaching or wait until he's older and ready? How much did you pay for him?

I'm just about to start a new game on 9.3 but I used Welbeck on a previous game and he's OK. Campbell looks the same, if not slightly better all round so I might use Campbell over Welbeck on my new game.

I'd have to wait for a 9.3 compatible editor to see Sakho's PA on my previous game save. It was a 9.3 beta save you see. ;)

Yeah, I wanted someone to go straight into the first team, Santon and Opare are too young, Rafael becomes first choice for me after two or three seasons.
Yeah, Santon/Opare too young but promising enough to justify signing them right away I think. Srna/Brown/Hargreaves is a pretty decent DR lineup and Rafael will always improve.

After he returns from hull I get rid of the huge piece dead wood that is Manucho as soon as possible.
Hence why I might just delete his loan to Hull and get rid of him at the beginning to get £3m earlier. :p
