Any rugby fans?

I used to play at uni, been lazy this year, going to pre-season soon to get my fitness back up to scratch. used to play prop, but that was when I was 21 stone. Down to 15 now, so playing a flanker :p. I support the Ospreys, and will be very tense tomorrow night, watching Wales. ;)

i'm a london irish fan, although embarrassingly have only managed 2 games this season, so my season ticket is working out pretty expensive at the moment :(

also try and get to some internationals each season. I used to play a lot but haven't played for years now, keep meaning to take it up again, but just so busy with work these days.

Does everyone else who has played rugby suffer from what I can only describe as creaking bones? Pretty much every part of my body clicks or doesn't quite seem to move as it should! Perhaps that's just how front row players are meant to be.

Yeah I have some crepitation in the neck and my knee can click. But I suffer from flat feet so I have a lot of pressure on my knees anyway. I tend to heal fairly quickly though so it's not too bad.

Despite not being a forward I go into contact a fair bit because when I play I like to make sure tackles happen and the ball stops. Idon't move out of position but I'm 100% commited when it comes to stopping the ball. I kinda miss being flanker at times and the funny thing is I'm bigger than a lot of the flankers that we play, but it's just SO much more fun being on the back line IMO.

boohiss, we didnt turn up today and where shocking. we=Bath.

the second game was excellent, cracking right hook, tbh both should be gone and probably he'll get cited. reaplcement prop for leicester, well gosh he's a bit tasty isnt he? got MOTM and rightly so.

Love watching rugby. I don't play any more though. Both my ankles and one of my knees clicks all the time these days - and one of my hips really knacks when it's cold - all courtesy of finding myself at the bottom of too many rucks :D

I'm Pumpkinstew... and I'm a rugbyholic.

I grew up in Bristol. My Dad took me to minis at about 10 years old and I played schools and junior combination and colts until age 18. Let it drop at uni as I couldn't give it the commitment I wanted to (the team was full of 'Sports Scientists'), went back to combination rugby in my early twenties but then moved to Oxford and again I don't have time to commit fully to playing :(
I've played almost every position at some point - but mostly at 2nd row and back row, and my bones too rattle and creak like a Rover with 80K on the clock.

I remember Julian White doing exactly the same thing for Bristol against Leicester with barely 10 minutes played. Bris went on to beat the tiggers with 14 men :D

Clearly those days are long gone.... we'll see you all again in September 2010 :(

tbh I think Sheridan had a bit of a footballer moment considering the size of him

also Butch James had an absolute horror show. He was worse than Malone, and that really takes some doing....

theres a 6 nations thread not far away if you go back a few pages ;]

I'm a Bath fan.

I went to their game against Bristol the other week. A hiding was on the cards, and Bath didn't fail to deliver :D

Just wondering if anyone out there watches rugby (not just England ocasionally). Seems to be a lot of football and even some cricket around these forums but no rugger :( I myself am a Harlequins season ticket holder.

Nother Quins fan here, I can't quite commit to all the games each season so a season ticket is still a pipe dream but have been to about 8 this year. Had hospitality tickets to the Sale game, twas well worth the money, great day.

The Worcester game was ace, when Monye went over right in front of us (South end of the Ethiad) and for the last 10 metres he was dragging a couple of people. Got tickets to the Leinster game, its a big one, going to be amazing.

Contemplating a season ticket next year, see what the prices are like when they come out...

Can't wait for Leinster tbh. I think we may win this one with Evans back (and Malone hopefully dead in a ditch somewhere) but I can't see us beating Munster / Ospreys sadly.

London Irish fan here, went to the game on Satuday to watch them put 5 tries past Bristol and then relegate them, not bad for the last home game of the season! :D
