I have a real bad habit of washing and then styling my hair before going to the hairdresses. I will then pay that bit extra for them to wash and head massage before I get the hair cut. They then ask if I want some gel / wax in my hair and I always say yes. I then proceed home to have another shower and wash my hair and re-style!

I have always done this but afterwards I always think it has been such a pointless excercise!

UNTIL TODAY!!!

I have decided I will go in with fluffy hair, let them wash it, and style it then not bother with the shower after (had one already today). So far I am really finding it hard!

Does anyone else go through a similar thing when going to the hair dressers / barbers?

Well I do, but usually because I don't make an appointment, I just doddle in and see if they're available. I don't specifically style it for going to the hairdressers.

No, I am a man, you must have more female hormones than is healthy for a male

What on earth possessed you to share this?

haha that is strange. I wash my hair, dry it and usually put a hat on before i go. Then it gets washed again there. I dont bother doing anything with it that i usually would as thats just pointless and a bit weird :)

Just wash it when I get home to get rid of the tiny bits of hair.

ps It's a barber for men and a hairdresser for women.

I don't bother to style my hair before going to the hairdressers, I wash it beforehand (and it is the only time I'll leave the house with my hair un-styled). I do the idiotic "yes" to gel, and then go home and shower/re-style though.

I don't because it looks better when they do it so I leave it like that as long as possible :p

Really? It generally looks ass when they do it as they don't know how my hair responds to the utterly pathetic gel they use, as a result my hair flops flat within 30 mins.

Thick hair FTL

I wash my hair before I get it cut with that voseane (sp?) stuff. I don't think my barbers do hair washing..

I dont really style my hair, just brush/comb it. I have not used gel/wax in years and always say no if i get asked at barbers - i hate the stuff. I wash my hair after I get it cut to get rid of all the lose hair.

God knows why I just posted my hair cutting routine ^.
