car colour and MOT

my MOT is up in a few days and the car doesnt match the colour stated in the log book

does this HAVE to match the log book when taking it for MOT?

im getting it repainted and its currently primed grey

will they accepct that as my excuse?

Don't think it matters at all - the MOT is a condition check. (otherwise all those wrapped vehicles would have a nightmare).

no spare - ok

illegal spare = fail

It's not. The condition of the spare tyre is not part of the MOT.

Yeah there are a lot of MOT myths. I don't memorise chunks of the manual or anything, I used to assist on a lot of MOTs thats all

Why do people drive around with cars and body panels in primer? Surely you prime it when its ready for painting and not before

I can testify that this wont matter, my S-Class V5 says "Black", the last MOT also says "Black", but the current MOT says "Maroon" I guess the tester must just pick from a list when he prints it out.
