Spaceship for £12K!

BHP 445 @ 6,000 rpm, Torque 600 Nm @ 3,950 rpm  had no idea they produced this.

Do BMW still produce the 7 series? Seems to be the 'dog' of BM's lineup compared to what else they offer or am I very much mistaken?

It's a competitor to the S Class, A8 etc it's not build for raw prowess like an M5 it's just there to give you incredibly smooth delivery and get you where you need to go quickly.

This is how smooth the V12 is:

Great, but then the price of shabby ones can't really be used to guage the price of mint ones, can it?

Apart from needing the alloys changed and two small dints out of the boot, the 7 I picked up is the same spec as the one listed. Different coloured leather, mine has dark green but my point is the one in the post for £4k is massively over-priced, even if you stick £500 on for the nicer wheels, a few hundred for bodywork, you're barely past £2k.

As for 'shabby' - a couple of small issues that can be corrected for a few hundred quid? God there are some snobs on this place

Oh, that one has been 'face-lifted' with the colour-coded strips under the doors/bumper, but it certainly isn't worth £4k.

Woosh.

7-Series BMW's are absolutely everywhere, of course they produce them, they are BMW's flagship line-up.

My point was that he posted what appears to be a marginally overpriced minter. You can't therefore say 'LOL mine was a third of that' when yours is both older, less well specified, has a less desireable interior colour combination and a few issues.

That one is a 1999 so is mine, though I suspect that is a 'T' plate so 6 months difference really, similar mileage and the dealer has polished that to within an inch of it's life. It is exactly the same spec other than the interior being a different colour and different alloys - no TV/NAV or autochanger so as I said, if I paid £1200 for a 1999 728, a facelift 1999 728 of the same spec with better alloys and different colour interior a) doesn't make mine 'scabby' and b) certainly makes that massively over-priced. Yes it's a dealer but it ain't worth more than £2.5k in this climate, probably £2k if it is anything other than mint which those 6 photos can't really tell you.

1200 quid for a good 99 728 is very much the exception rather than the rule. But then I suspect you already know that, making any price comparison with yours irrelevant.

What's confused you? Ford Modeo's are absolutely everywhere. BMW 7 series aren't. At least not up here. I thought the flagship model was the M series. Clearly not.
