apart from using this as a computer monitor I want to plug my sky+ box and Xbox360 Into It. Will them 2 products look any worse than on a "standard" HDTV set up ?
What Is the difference between this LG M2794D 27" and a HDTV?

I get the feeling this LG is a monitor but also lets you add standard stuff like sky+
where as a HDTV is a tv that lets you add a pc.
hope im making sence lol.

Had to remove link coz being told of for sending links, which wasn't sent for price difference(them being more money then overclocker anyway ;) was just clearly for reviews.

Still useless if you want to play a 2 player game of pro evo with a mate for example and your sitting on the left and right side of it :p

Also it hints at how good the price actually is for it.

So does anyone actually own one of these?

I to am looking at it mainly as a monitor for use with Photoshop, but to connect the PS3 too and maybe watch the odd TV prog would be good.

I did hook up a Hitachi 32" TV via HDMI as a second display but it was no way as sharp and my current Iiyama 22" wide .

Well watching TV via a sky box ect is out of the question as i emailed overclockers and they state the unit doesnt come with "scart" despite the official Samsung UK website stating otherwise. so they must be selling stock brought in from USA on the cheap. shame as im interested in this model now but will have to buy elsewhere as competitors state in their description it comes with "Scart".

Its a TN panel so poor viewing angles may have issues if your watching vids and 2-3 guys playing it on the screen also.

Even ive been pondering lately is there any 26 or 28inch LCD/TVs but ones with good panels like PVA/IPS, almost seems a waste having 2 giant screens in the room when can easily flick back and forth for some telly or surfing lol

I bought this over a month ago, think im one of only a few people who do own it. Have to says i've been really impressed with it.

As a PC monitor is great but it also has the added bonus of having a freeview so i can just flick over when ever I wanna get my normal dose of sky sports news.

If you have any specific questions about it, i'll try to answer. But overall i've been really happy with it. Only problem now is i've got used to the 27" screen and think i i could really do with a 30". The jump from a 24" one just wasn't big enough for me to think wow thats a big screen but if your moving from a smaller one then it might be. (Unless this is just me)

Also quick thing on the viewing angles, 360 should be fine with 2 or more players it just depends how close you are to the screen etc... Obviously if its on a computer desk like me and its only 2-3ft away max then yes unless your sat straight in front of it its not going to be amazingly great but im assuming if your going to be playing pro evo etc.. with 2 or more players you'll be further back and hence the viewing angles wont be such a big issue.

Hi Satty,
Thanks for that but someone did say something about scarts on this LCD, can you comfirm if it has scarts or not and also can I ask you what graphics card your using and do you think the ATI 4850 x2 2048 ddr3 would be ok with this monitor, plus do you know the difference between LG M2794D 27" and the LG M2784D"?

All the Best

Paul

Also be interested to know the answer to these questions if satty comes back. Further, do you notice any difference in games coming from 1900x1200?

Just got one for £307 incVAT comes later today so i'll try my best to answer them questions

Got one of these tv/monitors a few weeks ago after trying the 32 full HD TV route and I am fairly impressed with the pc picture quality.

I tried my ps3 via hdmi and xbox via component and it does not look too good on my screen, not sure whether its due to me sitting a bit too close or maybe the settings need tweeking.

If anyone can let me know of their expeirences with consoles on this monitor and any ideal settings they have that would be great.

thanks
