PC2-6400 Ram, will it be overclocked if ?

My mates just bought a new pc with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 processor and PC2-6400 Ram.

will the ram get overclocked if we increase the FSB on the CPU ?

He told me he wanted to get it to 3GIG ?
i understand that standard is 7.5x 333fsb (standard 2.5 gig)

and he would want 7.5 x 400 FSB to get to 3 gig

would the ram be ok at 3 gig or would i have to change anything in the bios ?

If he runs at 400FSB he just needs to set the RAM divider so it too runs at 400MHZ, then the RAM will be running at PC6400 speeds.

Thanks for the help. i know nothing about ram dividers, any idea what i would need to set it to ?

different motherbards use different term, set it at 1:1 in the bios and that at a 400 fsb will run it at DDR2 800 or PC2 6400
