I cant seem to get over 11k in 3dMark06 - ive overclocked my cpu to 3.2 Gig, ive got 3 GIG of ram, running XP with bare minimum stuff on hard drive owing to fresh install and ive clocked my 4870 to 790 / 1100 Mhz.

What the heck is going on? i thought i would get much higher - im also on the most up to date drivers too.

grrrrrrrrr

06 requires a dual core at around 4ghz or a quad core at 3.5ghz+ to give decent results. 3DMark is pointless anyway :)

Check your card with GPU-Z to ensure your running @ 16x bandwidth and the mhz are correct for the card.

when you say to check the MHZ are correct for the card, do you mean that GPUZ should show the clock speeds yes? sorry, its been a while since ive used it - ill check in about 30mins - glad im not going potty.

Would GPUZ show the overclock speeds?

Ok GPU-Z is showing CORRECT bandwidth and CORRECT clock speeds.

The ironic thing is, when i overclocked my CPU from 2.4 to 3GHZ the first time, 3DMark registerd 8000ish points.................. lol - pile of rubbish.

However, im still getting a relatively crap score - any other thoughts? Is my RAM perhaps running wrong?

You say you;ve overclocked your graphics card? Make sure everything is at default, so you can get your system "stock" score. Just as a reference, My Q6600 with 4gb 1333mhz DDR3, 1 9800 GTX+ All stock scores around 12700. So your system should be well over 10k.

I second the RAM. Check if it's running at proper speed.

06 doesn't like the new ati cards. install vista and try vantage.

how's game performance?

well this is ridiculous- it just registered 6100 points in 06 - wtf?!!?!?!?! im going to post some screeenies - can someone tell me how (appart from pressing print screen) to do this please?

open up CPu-z and write down here cpu speed, vcore, fsb, mem speed, mem timings.

Or printscreen it :p Use paint or something? Thats the easiest way.
