Jokes aside, I think there are sinister undertones to todays games and even music. From the news I can definitely relate to how some criminal acts of aggression have been carried out in styles depicted by video games. And how much has music promoted suicide? I know of countless songs that seem to endorse the view that suicide is the easiest way out.
Couple the above with common drug taking that induces paranoia, I can see how 'unnatural' feelings are amplified beyond reason.
I'd like to add that I too play FPS games and listen to music, but I am fully aware of how it can alter perception and moods. For this reason, I don't have background music running in games - I don't want to hear the same sounds in any other real environment. I can also relate to an incident during a rather dark time in my life where I was listening to some music whilst driving, a sad ballad that I care not to mention, that almost tipped my over.
Some may remember an interesting program by Darren Brown, "the heist" or something, in which he subliminally conditioned normal people to carry out armed robberies by setting up the mood. I hope this can be downloaded or something, and if you haven't watched it I would strongly urge you to seek it out.
Therefore, from someone who has lived a bit, been educated, studied logic, and understood NLP, I hope this post does not get trivialised with a cheap riposte.
